Indeed, the dev history concerning smuggler is very tarnished. This thread saddens me.
But Fred sanford trash minigame? LOL, Anyone remember the episode where Fred bought a horse? lol

It just astounds me that so much effort is being put into a Jedi revamp when so many other professions(Smuggler included) need work. Maybe if enough people leave the profession brining the number of player Smugglers down to the level of player Jedi we may get some love.
Why does it seem like the most work is being put into the profession with the least number of players?

Because Xosi Jedi are the thing that bring the kids to the game..... and thats what they care about - in fact its ALL they care about .....
All I ever wanted to be was a smuggler - after being told how bad it was I held off for a long time, then I got it hoping for the vamp and bang Im on the floor wondering what happened yet again....
This isn't a game its a marketing pitch for timeshares..... smuggler will be fixed honest - sometime in 2009 .... possibly ..... after the jedi hairstyle patch

That and the Holo-grind was KILLING the game. It had to be fixed. That's a pretty big fix, so while they were at it, they just out right revamped the whole thing, which, to me, isn't a bad thing.

oh my ghod... that was a harsh thing to read... i've always wanted to play a smuggler... in almost any game, i tried to find even a grain of smuggling in it....
to me, this has been likea bad dream, where i've walked into a warehouse, filled to the rafters with boxes. shiney metal boxes, with "smuggler only" stenciled on them. i rach for one, only to have it crumble to powder in my hand.
I WILL NOT GIVE UP SMUGGLER.
PERIOD!
we here on the forum seem to have the same goals/ideas. we all share that ideal. the part scout,part barnstormer,part scoundrel,part moneyhungry merc, part Loyal Friend. the archtypical smuggler.
we are the ones the rest hand their million cred guns and armor to.
think about it.

I'm still relatively new to Master Smuggler and these boards, so when I see (rarely) Green Marine or TH or someone come on here and promise us that things are going to happen to our profession (which I already dearly love, even in the short time I've been a part of it) I had a tendency to take them at their word.
This thread is a hell of a wake up call. JTL better be the best thing since sliced bread if SOE hopes to hold a subscriber base full of people whose classes don't work and who have been virtually ignored for a long time now. I feel for you all.

I've been afraid to read this post, and now that I did I kinda wish I didn't. I mean, I've been playing since March and knew it was bad. But I never could have thought...
I just don't know what to believe in anymore.
