I want to be known as the guy that botched a run, had a bunch of player BH's hunt me down, and got away guns blazing.

A further wrinkle would be to allow the Smuggler to use an option to bribe the Player BH. If the Bribe is accepted, the mission is dropped but the BH then gains visibility themselves, eventualy leadingto the BH being hunted by his fellows.

Can I call NECRO on this thread yet? I mean, OKAY, sure, it's like the only Dev post we have, but honestly, does anyone think any suggestion at the tail end of this beast is going to get read by ANY dev? even GM?

Wow, all these ideas. I generally have lain low for the most part. I enjoy playing smuggler, and with these new ideas, just know that Smuggler willl be an awesome character to play with loads of new actions to try out! Having been a Smuggler for the last year and a half, it seems that it was all worth it. Glad I did not respec to some other prof lol.
Cheer GM, and thanks for keeping the game cool!

how 'bout simply fixin' the messed up slicin' and make it show proper %. let us pick what to slice: damage or speed. let us slice vechicles.. space ship components? where's the jtls smuggler revamp promised 1 year ago? space content hasn't been on the smagglers radar since the release of jtls!

Their is a proposal for a slicing revamp in the in-concept forum which would make slicing more interesting and interactive for the smuggler and making it more skill based than random.
Take a look in the in-concept forum and see what it says in there.

I have to agree. The whole thing looks more: Devs posts some nice stuff *chuckles* and disappears for another year *chuckles about having the smugglers fooled and at bay for another year or so* then he comes back.. pats the smugglers on the head.. wrotes another meaningless post and vanishes again.

I heard....and this is just a rumor as far as I know, but someone told me that the revamp for smuggler was supposed to hit TC sometime in June...although half of June is already over and haven't heard anymore news on it so maybe it was just wishful thinking. Neone else heard anything along these lines by chance?

Changing the subject slightly with a question for GreenMarine:
So if our high-end acquisitions and missions might lead to a Bounty hunter coming after us, is that it? Do we just wait for the Bounty Hunter to come and find us, fight them and win or lose?
You did mention we could try to slice our names off of the BH Terminals, but that seems pretty uninteresting in the end. In the movies Han Solo was trying to get back to Jabba with the money he owed him so the Bounty would be removed. Is there going to be anything like this for us? Like a semi-long planet hopping type mission that if we complete it, the bounty will be removed? Obviously if our name is on the terminals, BHs will be chasing us during this time, so it could be an interesting cat and mouse game.
My basic question is, can the Bounty process be fleshed out to be made more interesting, and lean more towards escape and staying one step ahead of the Bounty Hunter instead of plain old fighting? That might also change a lot of peoples' minds about PvP, if the Smuggler vs. Bounty Hunter matchup was more about tricks and escapes than straight up fighting.
So what if slicing the terminals was just the beginning? And from there you get a "mission" to appease whoever placed the bounty? (I actually had a post proposing this earlier, but its likely been swallowed by the boards by now). And give us tools to trick Bounty Hunter tracking devices, making the chase longer. It would also be an interesting change for Bounty Hunters, knowing that going after a Smuggler is going to require more guile than brawn.
I think if the whole concept of Smuggler Bounties was moved more in this direction, people would object a lot less to it, because it would be our Smuggler skills that let us get out of the Bounty without ever firing a shot.
Plus, if Bounties for ALL players are ever implemented, Smugglers would be in the unique position of being the "slippery fish" that Bounty Hunters curse their names when they land on the wrong planet because the decoy threw off the tracking droid or something.

Guys! They took the In Concept smuggler stuff out! They're gone! This could mean they're ready to release it all (why would they take smuggler missions AND slicing off if they're just releasing slicing?) or they're gonna' scrap the whole thing!!!

It could be too late or it could be not happening at all... I guess no one's talking but I had a cool thought.
I was thinking that anyone involved in the smuggling mission should get visibility if they get caught. You all have to group up to get exp from the mission, right? Well, you get caught and your best hired guns get a rep as well.
BUT, and here's the interesting bit. You can "sell out" your companions. You get attacked, your friends get away leaving you incapped with a group of imperials standing around. All of the rep is going to come down on you and you can either choose to take it or to sell out your friends. You get a considerably lowered amount of rep but all of your cohorts (not friends any more) get a bunch of it.
Anyway... just thinking in cyberspace.

My guess is that like slicing, its going to be nothing like what was in concept so they took it down.
