I'm not saying FD shouldn't be fixed, but it seems there are two sides to this problem. The way FD works and grievers. Setting aside how to or whether FD should be fixed, I think the problem of grievers is something else, related, but a bigger problem than just FD. I didn't PvP that much, in fact I have been black barred and armor degraded from FD in a base (and just took it as the cost of PvP), but I stopped after being triple incaped and otherwise grieved by some players.

I think there is a bigger problem here and that is the inability of SOE and CSR's to sufficiently police behavior they claim is inappropriate. It is my understanding that grieving and otherwise abusing another player is unacceptable behavior, yet it seems the attitude is to let people continue acting inappropriately and mess with the program. How about banning people not permanently but say for a week for grieving people. In my experience, SOE fails miserably to deal with player abuse. I was stalked by this really creepy dude who followed me around for more than an hour stealing all my missions and sending me idiotic taunts. I reported him in game, but never got so much as a reply from any CSR.

SOE is all gung ho to address the code part of a problem, but ignores the player side. While FD may be unworkable in some regards and situations of gameplay, but there is also a player or players abusing it as well and why should players who don't abuse it pay all the price of others abuse of the system. I think the proper response is to address both sides of the problem. Perhaps by creating a special trouble ticket for grievers that accumulates so that if they recieve a certain number of such tickets with their name someone looks into it and decides if the player needs to be banned or otherwise sanctioned. The fact is there are people who love nothing better than to spend their time making this game unenjoyable for others and I would like to see some sign that SOE is willing to do something about holding people accountable to what they declare is inappropriate behavior.
