I take this as a positive sign b/c, frankly, I trust Veela to look after our interests more carefully than someone outside this community.

... So... what about that media thing you wanted to push Veela?

Or can't you do that anymore cause of the NDA?

I believe she said she was going to use it if she didn't get some good answers... and it seems she got some good answers. I'll take her reply so far and be content for the time being. Hopefully it won't be too long or it won't matter what they have planned. I'll write letters to every publication that does a review on theexpansion regarding the past almost two years of action and inaction.

NDAs and priorities will only work for so long with this Smuggler.

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

I tend to be rather skeptical as most of you know.

I'm looking at this in a more positive what HOWEVER...

I agree with those that think this NDA thing has gotten WAY out of hand. What it's done is bring ANY kind of dev interaction to a screeching halt. I find their communication to be utterly lacking and horribly unprofessional.

That being said I'm happy one of us had the clout to threaten them in a way that got their attention. It seems that serious threats are ALL that get their attention. I'd like to point to 20+ months of having them ignore reasonable questions and discussions, ignoring whining, and ignoring furious customers and in the end one person with the means and intent to publically bloody their noses got their attention nearly instantly.

That is just a SAD SAD way to go about customer relations.

Ask me a riddle and I reply: "Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie."

Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie, Why are there Jedi, I don't know why.

Its this very reason that Veela's "news" does nothing for me. Ok, she got good news. Ok, she's under a NDA so once again, we know nothing. But because its one of us we're all supposed to be happy again?

Nothing against you, Veela, I appreciate what you are trying to do - but this is still more smoke and mirrors. I know nothing more than I did before you did this other than someone else has good news they can't share. We're coming up on 24 months of that. Its old and tired.

Give me some real news, something that will actually keep me here past when D&D online launches the second half of this year. That's MY limit. If I do not have any new knowledge about our revamp by then, I'm likely gone. SOE will have screwed me over for 2 years at that point. That's enough, don't ya think?

it is funny that so few words can make so many people happy.

is that a proof on how clueless SOE has been dealing with customers?

i agree on the idea of "20 minutes dev talk" make it 20 replies to smugglers questions . that would dissipate so many angst.

I agree Shrendyc, I have set my limit for a month after CURB goes live and I won't buy the expansion, or see LAs new movie, until I have something meaningful for smugglers. After that time limit I'm out of here permanently. I never look back once I quit something. Drives my wife crazy because I won't turn around for a gas station if I pass it and won't turn left into one when I can turn right a bit farther down the road.

My deadline's gonna be in mid-July, soon as I hit the two-year mark. Then it's vaya con Dios time for me.

/agrees with people setting deadlines.

Not like the Devs care, but it bolsters you against futile hopefulness. That's why I've given the devs a two-nerf policy. Two more nerfs to smuggler without any significant improvement, and I walk away from Smuggler. I walked away from Bounty Hunter and never looked back, because I felt that was mishandled.

Really, Smuggler, Bounty Hunter, they're ideas. Concepts. Not professions. If I drop the skills, I refuse to not consider myself a rogue. regardless of what I do.

V E E L A "her royal hawtness"
I am Jack's Smirking Revenge. I am Jack's Ignored Profession.
Theed was a bustling commerce city...people hawked their wares, danced, laughed, dueled, and had a rollicking good time. Cantinas packed with Entertainers of every race, shape and size...along with scoundrels, Stormtroopers, and drunks. People grouped up and stuck together in the wilderness, and you ALWAYS took a Scout or a Ranger with you. We lived our own Star Wars saga. We created our own personas, our own histories, and it all blended into this wonderful, magical experience that I will always remember...

That magic is gone now, but I'd pay 50 bucks a month to have it back.

Editor's Note: The author of the above post has quit giving SOE her money. She suggests you do the same, because this game will never be what you want it to be.
