I wouldn't mind Jan's craft from the Jedi Knight games, er, Raven's Claw? something like that.
the ship Katarn used in the first 2 games was a heavily modified Imperial Assault Missile Boat. Poor choice for smugglers as all the "cargo" space was taken up by pesky laser cannons and multi-rocket delivery systems.
the second ship he had, from JK2, looked familiar, but I'm not sure what it was.
keep in mind the most important aspect of any smuggling ship is that it must have some room to actually hold smuggled cargo. a nice attack craft may be tempting, but it's a sore way to make money in our profession.

Anyone remember the short-lived "Star Wars Gamer" mag that hit the stands after Wizards of the Coast got the SWRPG licencing? There was an article in one of them that contained illustrations of a variety of Corelian light freighters. One of them, the YT-1900 I believe it was, or possibly slightly closer neumerically to the YT-2000? Anyway it was simillar in structure to the 2000, but lighter and smaller, if I recall correctly. That one takes my first vote (obviously the 2000 would be a decent substitute).
My runner-up would be the ability to build "uglies". Combo fighters, cobbled together out of other fighter parts (TIE cockpit with Y-Wing engines, X-Wing nose and Cockpit with TIE Bomber wings... etc)

Thats a good pt to bring up. Especially when you get multipassenger ships where the pilot may switch.

I don't think this is likely, as someone asked a Dev (Q-3PO?) at E3 (or maybe fanfest, my memory's crap
) if they could name their ship in JTL. He looked at them quizically and said, "Do you want to be able to name your ship?" (paraphrasing).
Oh well, I guess they've had a few months... maybe they'll get it implemented, or if enough people in Beta yell for it, maybe they'll get it done then.. after all, all they need do is add a variable for the ships name and display that instead of your name.. right?
As far as Faction ships go.. well, I'd love to see them get squadron designations (maybe a PA feature?), heck, even call signs!

dont forget about the jedi ship, blocking 99% of all attacks and shooting lightsabers and when it gets low on HAM it has /forcespeed3 to fly 10 times faster than any other ship.
But on a serious note i would love to have a wolf in sheeps clothing ship something that looks extrmly crappy but is a high end machine under the hood

I'm torn between the best of either speed or firepower. Do I go for the A-Wing or the B-Wing?

There was an adventure in the old West End Games SWG that had a layout for a shuttle that was kinda cool. (I have it at home, but I'm at work right now, so I can't remember the name). Also, I wouldn't mind somthing similar to the ship in KOTOR. That or any of the YT series. I am a big fan of the one from the Shadows of the Empire game.
Not really interested in a capital ship...too much maintaince for me
I would like to make "uglies" as well...that would rock

They used to call them "Q-Ships", though I dont recall why... Unassuming freighters and trollers that would drop their false cabin walls or cargo netting to reveal that they were heavily laden with weapons and ammo, not cargo or fish!
I agree, a large ship with massive amounts of firepower hidden from view could prove usefull, but would really be better used by pirates and police trying to lure eachother int to a false sence of security. All those weapons dont leave much room for spice!
I would rather look far toughter than I realy am, so others would leave me be: False turbolasers and fake proton torpedo tubes sticking out everywhere keep people from starting trouble with you, and leave room for a few hundred thousand credits more profit on cargo.
