Thread: Smuggler Template
I think I'm leaning towards Smuggler/CM as well, I really like the CM debuffs.
Other than my template's obvious, insane lack of healing (um, like 0010 medic....) I'm an offensive powerhouse!
- Good crowd control from Smuggler
- Good range
- Good damage output
- Good snares + roots
- Good defense

I was MS/MP CM 4000. I really loved this template in groups, I was a pulling machine. As my cohorts in crime stopped playing as much I was playing solo much more and this was not cutting the mustard.
I am now MS/MBH pistols 0004. This is great for a loner. Defense is a lot better then last template as is damage output. I do miss some of the pistol debuffs and CM when I'm in a group, but when I'm solo I get all the healing I need from stimpacks.

Once I'm able to switch my vendors to one of my alts I'll drop the Merchant for 4000 Combat Medic.
I was fooling around with a skill calc trying to decide what to do if we ever get smuggler missions. I came up with M Smuggler, M Rifles, Pistols 0003, Medic 0200.
With that you'd have pretty decent ranged defense,killer accuracy with rifles, good crowd control (a root, two dazes, two snares), and two heals on different timers. What it would lack is melee defense, but with all those snares and a root you should be able to get away without it. You'd also have cover up, and you'd probably be able to toy aroundwith conceal shotwhile he's walking around looking for you. Wouldn't kill the BH, but it would probably annoy the heck out of them. I wonder if bacta toss enhancers work on the medic bacta toss and how much it would boost healing?
Seems like a good get-away template if there was one, and also has good offense. The bad parts would be no terrain negotiation, and being able to use only recon armor. You'd also be able to pack a good energy rifle and switch off to a Kinetic pistol if it wasn't doing the trick.
Gah, if it wasn't for being BH right now to farm loot, I'd start switching over to that template right now!
