Thread: Smuggler Template
i'm going master smuggler, master creature handler with a bit of medic with what's left over.
this way, i have a reason to be in out of the way locations on backwater planets. if the "authorities" ever ask why, i'm simply hunting a rare species of animal for my collection. its the perfect cover!
Currently, I'm very happy with my Msmuggler/Mcarbs/Ncm template, I can dish out damage in groups, mezz and understand all the languages. Also, I have the best titles in the game, which is a huge benefit of course.
Frankly i respeced a hundered times since i resubbed [keeping master smugg always] and i can't seem to survive in PVE without being able to heal myself, even as a TK master [it still breaks my heart to have had to give that up]. Thus my decison to do CM. I suppose it's most likely my inexperience with the new combat system.
That just gave me a good idea for how the content could work!! Check it....
1) There are Smuggling Terminals- or Better yet it isn't a term but just some shady looking guy outside of all the cantinas. The term/guy hands out Delivery missions exactly the same as normal delivery missions, you know except the stuff is spice and guns.
2) The payout for these missions is great, akin to BH missions. 50K for the 'tough' (long distance) ones.
3) Everytime you accept one of these missions you acrue a Smuggler Vis point.
4) When you reach 10 pts you are on the BH terms.
5) The more pts you have, the more money you are worth to the BH's (Something along the lines of... PTS x 1500 = BH payout. So, ifa smuggler is worth 10 pts and a BH kills him, theBH is awarded 15000 credits). If you are killed by a BH, your Smuggler Vis points are decreased by 5.
I think this would be easy to program and a great way to have consequences for smuggling! What do you think?

i think it should take more points and depend on the mission. 10 points is way to low IMHO. i could be wrong. what does it take for jedi to hit a term?
PS. Sorry about the /hijackthread.

The best template in my opinion would be Master Smuggler/ Master Bounty Hunter, so you could turn yourself in for credits ![]()
Seriously though and purely academically speaking, (since the likelihood of Smuggling missions and us getting bounties is questionable) I'd have tosay that the besttactic in fighting Bounty Hunters is tomake a run for it. There's no reason for us to fight toe to toe with a bounty huntersince many of these clowns are the best PvPers in the game (they fight against superior templates all the time). After all, it's all risk and no rewards. In my humble opinion, Smugglers have only three priorities (and not necessary in this order):
1) Survival
2) Credits
3) Beer and Pie
The Smuggler who runs away, lives to smuggle another day. The foolish Smuggler who stands and fights, well he dies ![]()

I have to agree here, but I have a question, as I'm not too familiar with Pvp. I am not a Jedi or BH, so I don't know how this works, but is it possible to run away? I mean, if you are in normal PvE combat, you can't jump on your ship and blast out of Mos Eisley or anything like that until the thing that aggroed you is dead. That can be a pain if it's standing nearby, and you have to go kill it to take off. Can you do that in PvP? I mean, if we can't get away, as in off the planet, all we can do is mezz them and then get a small head start on our speeders. It'll be hours on hours of driving around in circles with them on your tail. Some people can be very persistant. If, however, we could run into our homes or hop on a starship and take off for some unknown planet, then I'd be ok with the terminal thing.
Just curious how it works now, and if it would affect our 'run away' strategic option.
