Very gracious post. I'm glad other professions see the state that ours is in. But after tonight it will be mine no longer. I've given up on it.

okay peeps-

I'll throw in my $1.05

To the OP- thanks bro. It truly was gentlemanly of you to come in here like that- And I appreciate it. Not a lot of gentlemen around nowadays and it's good to see decency somewhere in this game.

As for the BH > Smuggler debate-

You both have points- but I tend to lean towards Shanti's arguement.

I have been carrying 3-4 ICBs on me since the slice publish (not to mention afew transdoshan whatsits andthe like)- so yes, I was prepared andcurrently have house loads of supplies and a few cratesI haven't touched to boot (not one delicate trigger joint though).

But that is not why I side withShanti-I understand that not everyone knew or could do anything about those changes and found themselves SOL.

However, last night I had two people ask me for slices- which is two more than I've had in the past 6 months.

The first guy I blew off because I was running behind and he was asking waaaaaay too many sketchy questions and I wasn't in the mood to explain the whole system.

The second guy caught me in a rush too- but he seemed to know a little more and he was at the Starport that I was going through so I did it.

I tell him a basic slice will cost him 10k and if he wants anything else it will cost him considerably more.

He has all the tools so I tell him I will do it for 30k. He agrees.

He gives me 3 finely tuned- 2 ICBs- A Delicate Trigger- and his gun. Some other stuff too. Waaaaaaaay more than I needed to finish the speed slice he had already started and the damage follow up.

I slice his stuff- and hand him his extra tools back- (guess I'm a gentleman too).

the point is- I didn't lose out on any tools and I made decent dough for making a slice (I've never made 30k on a slice before).

It cost me NOTHING.

So, it's not that bad. It's not bad at all really because now more people will want slices and only WE can give them to them- PLUS since most know the value of the tools they don't mind paying big bucks for the slices- which is how is always should have been.

You don't need to get the tools. I haven't done jack snibbly to get any tools. And any tools I DO get will go directly to MY equipment- unless someone is ready to pay a s-load of cash to upgrade their stuff. I haven't even thought about how much money a "raw" slice would cost a customer.

You have to think of it like AV-21s. Master Artisans don't make bulk trips to the Corvette to get these (most, anyway) but they aren't shy about charging an arm and a leg to craft one for you.

Now, it DOES suck that many Smugglers spent a lot of time trying to get these components only to have this happen and it IS a slap in the face of an already abused profession.

But trust me. It is a good thing these things are dropping like they are.

The only problem I see here is the lack of any law enforcement-related infrastructure regarding the supposedly illegal tools. From the Bounty Hunter side of the Underworld, I'd like a choice of, say, bringing the tools found on my "criminal" bounty mark to an Imperial officer for faction points or risking getting caught with them. Or even being able to get away from getting caught by flashing an Imperial Peace-Keeping Certificate. (which is pretty much a BH license on Imperial-controlled worlds) Or having to get a special carrying license for a modified weapon to be used in legal bounty hunting. Or getting fake versions of the documents from a Smuggler. Things like that. But that's just pipe dreams as nothing more severe than the quite silly and, lately, very much non-existent Imperial crackdown will ever be implemented.

On my 2nd time around as a BH in my first night of hunting 20+ marks I looted 4 ICBs,2 del trig assembies, 10 mando intraframes and 2 reactive micro platings. I doubt the high drop rates for smugg components will continue. It's really a catch 22. You decrease the drop ratethensmugg components go back upand if you let them continue the way they are, then prices will bottom out meaning very little profit.

- I support a re-implementation! I did NOT buy a FPS game!
