anyhoo, this jedi thing is out of hand. I don't have a problem with individual jedi, I have a problem with it being a profession at all.

Are there quite a few jedi in this timeline in the EU? yes, there sure are. But let's look at it. Who are the kickass Jedi of the OT? Yoda, and Obi Wan. Where are they? Hiding on sh!tty planets, acting like crazy old kooks. If two jedi masters afraid of the Empire, why the crap would some "knight" have no problem running around theed?

Yoda did indeed hide. But Obi Wan stayed in plain view and watched over Luke. Brave soul, that guy.

If by "staying in plain view" you meant living a life of a hermit in a solitary hut on a desolate desert planet mostly filled with scum of the galaxy, assuming a false "crazy old man" identity, never revealing his Jedi origins and having actual physical contact with at most a handful of people living in the close vicinity, I somehow wish more Jedi would be "in plain view" in SWG.

Let yourselves be heard in the Galactic Civil War forum. If we all speak our minds, we can be smugglers, and be viable in SWG... and not just a step towards the "real game" of glowstick waving.

We need you there!

I bet he was a regular in the Eisley cantina thou. Did you see him order a drink? But he got one. And he seemed to know some people there already. Plus he seemed to know right where the cantina was.

And why did they go to the cantina? The first place I woulda thought to find a pilot would be the um... starport! Obi Wan was an alcoholic. Couldn't stay off the bottle.

Yea, Obi Wan should've known the way you find someoen to do something for you is to spam in front of the starport, not rp your way through the cantina. only loser rpers in there.

I cannot believe the people here /crying about all the Jedi.
Yes they are tough,
Yes they are cool,
Yes 1 on 1 they win usually (unless someone knows what they are doing totally)

AND YES they took a VERY VERY LONG TIME doing the work to get thier toon to the point of JEDI and deserve it.

and yes the timeline is totally borked in the game, but who does care, were not reading a book here were playing a game. We need things to do and places to go and stuff to kill.

And once they / I got it, it's still a bunch of work. So to all the I Win people that are crying about
too many Jedi out there, what you need to do is sit down and think about what needs done.

If they are Pwn'n your faces in the GCW then there are many ways around that. I can think of several.
I'm not going to tell you what they are, cause I still want to pwn yer faces. So stop crying about it, and
work for it, or stretch your brains and try harder.

Axob, you're going to love this...

From a guildmate of mine who went on TC today (mind you, I didn't see this myself so I have no clue what I'm talking about really ):

"Tested out the starter quest today (on TC). They have changed it alot. The quest lead you to think that you are Jedi material (straight from the start). The first NPC you talk to in the space station gives you a hint that you are gonna be force sesensitve. They have even added a Jedi fight between two level 500 Jedi up there."

And it starts - since we are given a hint we are gonna be force sensitive.I would betthey are just going to make Jedi a normal elite profession to stop the complaining.

I neverwanted toeven try to get force sensitive. Its just too much of a time sink that could be better used rpingmy smuggler or my BH and having fun.

Well, I left Dec. 3rd and like I promised I came back to give you another chance.
So Sony, impress me with the new system - not good enough, back to WoW 3/06 !
I am back again 3 months later giving you 1 last chance.
Looks like I will be staying, keep up your hard work.
zzzzz - cancelled - zzzzz - again - zzzzz - someone wake me up from this nightmare

Personally, I could give a sh!t when it comes to the timeline in this game.

I took it as- we started from this day, this hour, this second of the Star Wars universe as you know it. THE REST IS UP TO YOU...IT'S YOUR STORY.

The problem with Lucas, God bless him, is that he created something even he couldn't top and so many people feel about as passionate as I do about it. For example, even though the trilogy DVD collection was released, people still continue to complain about Han shooting Greedo first (myself included).

That said, your statement isnot even a literal interpretation of the setting of SWG. First and foremost, it was declared back in conception that it would take place between episodes 4 and 5 because of the galactic civil war. Secondly, the introduction in Star Wars Galaxies mentions the Galactic Civil War with rebels fighting imperials.

To reverse direction now would be completely idiotic, and would definitely turn me off from the game.I do not like the prequelsnearly as much as I like the original trilogy, EU included.

The way I see things now, if SWG tanks insofar as Jedi is concerned (and becomes episode 3, or kotor online, etc), at least I'll have almighty ex-westwood studios guys releasing Empire at War later this year, featuring my favorite part of Star Wars: stormtroopers killing and/or being killed by rebels >

Empire at War - destined for GOTY 2006.

I believe the only ways you can quit being a Jedi are either to just play your alt, or to delete your Jedi, in which case you lose your alt slot.

He knew his way around the Tatooine underworld too well to be a hermit.

Although, he did change his name to Ben Kenobi - any 4th grader,or Jawa for that matter, can see the relation.
