I'd be all for that. The events leading up to Ep4 make for some much more interesting gaming than Ep5. Particularly since without Hoth or Ord Mantell.. there really *isn't* anything interesting going on leading up to Ep5.

Ooooh, except for that Alderaanian flora thing. Can't imagine why there wasn't a movie made about that. Truly fascinating stuff.

Jedi aren't going anywhere. There are more masters now than there ever have been (*cough* nice work with the respec code!*cough**cough*!). And since the timeline is stopped dead anyway, who cares if it gets bumped back a little? Like any of us are gonna miss those missions in the Rebel themepark anyway.

Personally, I could give a sh!t when it comes to the timeline in this game.

I took it as- we started from this day, this hour, this second of the Star Wars universe as you know it. THE REST IS UP TO YOU...IT'S YOUR STORY.

To me that meant that we would see Jedi, the Empire has a chance to come out on top and a whole slew of other things that go against the movies. We cannot expect the game to follow the timeline and be fun.

That said, I would LOVE to earn a destroyed the Death Star Badge (for those who care about the timeline you DO know they were building another one right about this time, you know)!

In fact I would love it if there was a new planet that you could settle and then the Death Star would come along and threaten to blow up all your stuff and all those on the planet if the Rebels didn't stop it in time. NOW THAT IS A GAME! Hell, I even think that would garner some RL press.

...but that's just me.

Now, don't let this post make you think I'm not tired of seeing Jedi all over creation. I do. I just don't think this game had anything to do with the timeline the minute they allowed us to do whatever we wanted in it.

They need to accelerate the story line, They have been so busy doing other stuff that poor luke has been sitting at the temple on Yavin for the last 2 years trying to evacuate it. They need to just speed us up past Episode 6 so things will make sense again, since that is the time of Jedi Academy, etc.

you know, they could solve the ...has blown up the Death Star issue, if they added Coruscant. I do believe there's a few Death Stars floating about in orbit around it. and now that they've added a zoned, walled in, controlled, adventure planet, Coruscant would be simple.

Good point, and funny.

Yeah soon we'll start seeing a Death Star Space mission where you can re-enact the deathstar trench run. Devs should just cut there losses and say its between III and IV because the state of the game clearly shows it.

You gotta admit that mission would be fun as hell.

Did one of my posts get deleted out of here? hmmmmm...

anyhoo, this jedi thing is out of hand. I don't have a problem with individual jedi, I have a problem with it being a profession at all.

Are there quite a few jedi in this timeline in the EU? yes, there sure are. But let's look at it. Who are the kickass Jedi of the OT? Yoda, and Obi Wan. Where are they? Hiding on sh!tty planets, acting like crazy old kooks. If two jedi masters afraid of the Empire, why the crap would some "knight" have no problem running around theed?

bring back permadeath!

Well, for those who aren't into Jedi being in the GCW, Auraboron came up with a nifty lil' proposal that you can find here:

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=GCW&message.id=347218&view=by_date_ascending&page=1

I can't be arsed to clicky it as I am out the door for today...

However, the Jedi really don't seem to like this idea too much.

I myself dig it VERY much. Just add a Light/Dark side struggle between Jedi and make it count for something and I think you just might save the GCW with this lil' gem.

Oh yeah, and YES. This is something he posted in the Corr. Forums.

You wanna throw in your two cents, Wes?

Axob, you're going to love this...

From a guildmate of mine who went on TC today (mind you, I didn't see this myself so I have no clue what I'm talking about really ):

"Tested out the starter quest today (on TC). They have changed it alot. The quest lead you to think that you are Jedi material (straight from the start). The first NPC you talk to in the space station gives you a hint that you are gonna be force sesensitve. They have even added a Jedi fight between two level 500 Jedi up there."

This is terrible news, unless they also introduce new anti-Jedi pro-RP servers.

Look at it this way. Those people that only can play a couple hours a week can finally become jedi. Yes Im against the rising jedi pop, but they have many paying costumers that just cannot play this game as much as most that are jedi do. And dont tell me, "Im a jedi and I only play a couple hours a week blah blah blah" crap, because jedi take about 8-10 hours a day for 6 months to get. I think this is gonna be great for the games longevity. Finally a game that gives something to the casual gamers. In return, I would very much like a non-jedi server.

Well, having said that, the actress who plays her has been in a lot of games. She's good at what she does, so I wouldn't begrudge her that

Good at what she does? Have you heard her English accent in Mercenaries?

Everyone's entitled to their off days ... Seriously though, she's the voice behind two of my favourite video game's characters of all time, Bastilla and Naomi from Metal Gear Solid; she can do no wrong in my eyes
