First, How much are one of those gonna cost, and will they be Customizeable? Second, "sort of recreate"?! does this mean that we ARE going to have to hang around in bars, waiting for a whiney Farmboy, and a crazy old man to show up, and have us take them somewhere?
Anyone with enough credits to buy a YT-1300 will be able to "sort of recreate that whole Han Solo persona.".
So it's not really smuggler content, is it?
My old copy of 'Wing Commander: Privateer' is looking pretty good right now.

Please let your forums know that Haden won't have access to the boards for a couple of days and plans to respond sometime next week.
Thanks
This was directed at all correspondents, don't take this as smugglers specifically if you will.

He had better bring his 'A' game. Cause I know I'm ready to rumble and I know more than just a few of my smuggler peeps are. /flex
No kidding man. I canceled my account yesterday due to Mr. Blackman, and the only reason I'm sticking around to forums is so I can rip him a new one next time he dares to show his face.

The Jedihologrind ruined the game. Period. We lost the best artisans, weaponsmiths, armorsmiths and more to theideaof grinding professions until the force sensitve slot was unlocked. THIS HAD TO BE FIXED ABOVE ANYTHING ELSE. This was not what the game was supposed to beabout and the Devs realized it and they had to fix it. Plain and simple. I, for one, am happy they did.
Whether you intend to give up your profession to play it or ignore it and keep what you have is your choice, and you are entitled to it, but, sorry, the Jedi revamp was way more important then any profession revamp.
I've been a master smuggler for quite sometimeand the most I do with it is slice for my pals. Occasionally I will run around with the MSflag up, but i get so many tells to slice that I can't keep track of them. And, I am still boggled why people don't want to pay the 5k to do it, so i ignore them.I am a master fencer as well, so Ihave no real need for my pistols except to pull a target out form a mob or to low blow someone after I've dizzied them and they run away. That way i can pull out the lead pipe and beat em to a pulp. Now, I pretty much just craft smuggler tools and sell them on my vendor to all of the smuggler hopefuls out there.
I realize my profession is broken, but it's the one I chose. I knew what I was getting into when I chose it. Sure, I have thought of giving it up and going for something different, but I can never bring myself to surrender the Master Smuggler box.(I would hate to lose my Crime Boss of Coronet status)
Flame the Devs all you want, but you are all going to be drooling at the bits ewhen JTL come out so you canfly your own shuttle or X-wing or tie-fighter. All we can do is hope that thefolks who put this game together are pulling everyone off the Combat balance, the GCW revamp, and all the profession revamps to make it so we don't have these kinds of problems with Jump to Lightspeed that we do with An Empire Divided.

2) first highlight. No they haven't fixed it. People are still unlocking and people are still grinding away. Not fixed. As a matter of fact my friend unlocked 2 days after Publish 10 (is that the one were on?).
3) second highlight. I had no clue that the Smuggler profession was broken. No one told me /lookaround. I'm pretty sure others didn't know as well.
What I'm trying to say is devs have done nothing since launch and will continute to do nothing up until JTL and then probably.... you guessed it NOTHING. There ARE other professions that need fixing but most of those are because the devs already tried to fix them. So we can A- be happy with our prof now and hope they don't screw us over like they did other professions, or B- beg for a decent revamp. Now it SHOULD be decent since they have supposedly been working on one since launch. But I think we all know that's a load of horse **edit**.

Nope, Publish 9.2 is going live some time next week. Publish 9 was an introduction of the new Force Sensative skills which are a requirement to start learning Jedi skills. They also revamped the Jedi professions while they were at it and added the Force Ranking System (FRS). Any characters that unlock via grinding at the momentdo not have access to their FS characters andwon't untilPublish 10 goes live. Publish 10 completely replaces the grinding system with a new way (as yet unanounced) to unlock, which will have nothing to do with grinding professions.

The Smuggling profession was tacked on at the end of development. It is the only profession in game that does not do what its namesake implies, that being smuggling (of any sort). It is arguabley one of the most iconic Star Wars professions in game, along side bounty hunter.
Currently they are slice monkies for the player base, their underworld tree being next to useless for factioned players and entirely useless for neutral players; spice in its current form is by far inferior to buffs and chef foods and its market has been almost completely destroyed by both the Chef food revamp and hologrinders selling crates of the stuff at extremely low prices.
The dirty fighting tree is semi useful, with pistol specials and feign death. On it's own however, it is somewhat useless for anything higher than low-medium content (I use that word loosely) and even if complemented with master pistoleer is still relatively poor (as we all know, pistoleer isn't exactly the greatest of combat professions).
To top it all off, barely anything is gained in the masters box, all experimentation points gained in slicing and spices are useless as experimentation does not come into either and there is little to no documentation of the master box and various skill boxes throughout the profession.
The fact that no-one told you is indicative of the player bases knowledge of the game and the professions within it. Anyone who bothers to spend some time on this forum and read the stickied posts will realise and understand the arguments presented by the community here.

Chefs seem to be doing alright, Image Designers are just dandy and while DEs aren't exactly extatic, at least they have more functionality and can peform the namesake of their profession.
