Axob, I love your style, but you're wrong on this one.

1. It is NOT about risk vs. reward, it's about Smugglers AGAIN / STILL needing loot drops to perform one of their basic functions.

2. It's about a fundamental flaw that prevents us from even having lesser components made by players (which I hope to see changed).

3. It's about all those things in the chuckle thread now that the consumer has been given more control because of the loot drop situation. Zane has been a weaponsmith, and I now have a weaponsmith alt. It's because of loot drops that I do not take loot from other players to make weapons for them.

4. Finally, non master can do as good of a job as a master. It's going to take that master doing some serious work to get lootdropsfor only a slight increase to the weapon because of the restraints of the new "balanced" system.

I'm not entirely opposed to this system. It's better than what they first put on TC, but it's not up to par with what was proposed. Basicly, not a whole lot is changing though. I would like to see some acknowledgement of their willingness to add to the system though or I'm taking it at it's face value.

PS- I read some more of the thread and realised you are saying some of the same things. I just don't believe that high end loot drops is really risk vs reward. The only thing that high level loot means is that someone will get rich off of em, it just won't be the Smugglers. I want risk vs reward, and this isn't it.

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

No one will be skimming anything off the top, thanks to a player base that tracks prices via the trade forums. Professional loot campers will be looking for these things, they will drive the price up.

This is my prediction that I hope doesn't happen. Think of it this way: The going price for a blacksun fighter ace helmet is around 2 mil credits. High end krayt tissue,...

This leaves you with one option and that is to go get the loot yourself. However....

Look at the krayt hunting grounds,...entire guildsand loot squadscamp the spot to gather tissue. The independant Smuggler will be phased out for the more "corporate" version.

Put the high end loot as the reward for Master level Smuggler missions. Make gettting Master worth something in return for the time invested to grind it.
