Here's a thought.
Once this goes live - Imperial outposts are going to become unholy battle zones. When I need to delegate faction I go to an outpost because they're relatively safe to be overt, and other imperials are there as well.
If Jedi know theres going to be a ready supply of overts in any particular place we can expect to see gank squads showing up. So that means most smugglers for guilds are going to take a protection team of their guildies to protect them during this time.
Not really anyway around it - the devs can increase the toughness of the outposts but then the outposts just become destination spots for squads to attack.
Wonder if Keran is still deserted!

I'm sorry, but I'm not following what you're getting at. The way I look at this its going to be much safer for smugglers to sell FP because you no longer have to buy FP and /del FP at the same time. You ca visit a rectruiter while COVERT, buy FP to your cap (or as much as you want) and then go overt elsewhere, and meet your client anywhere you want and do one /del of the whole lump sum. Before both you and your client had to be standing at the recruiter, you overt, while you let the macro run in chunks of a few hundred FP at a time.
LOL - ahhh my mindset is going to have to change - I'm just so use to buying/delegating on the spot....
I stand corrected.
Thanks!

Eh...I don't use any of the known public recruiters. Someone was good enough to plop a Det HQ about 300m away from my house, and I've been selling FP out of it for a while. Assuming it doesn't get taken down, that's where I'll continue to work from. I just hang near the recruiter at the bottom, and if any red dots show up on my radar, I start running my FD macro. At least that way, an attacker can't just ride up on me and gank me out in the open.
That particular base now has over 20-mil in maintenance in it...which equals out to about 2000 days. If something happens and it goes *poof*, I'll just suck up the 2.5 mil overhead and drop one of my own, and continually randomly reset the vuln timer. ![]()

With this change, especially the ability to buy bigger batches at a time, we have the advantage of being able to offer as much as a customer needs right now, which should secure us a market. When those new faction armours go in, from last week's Friday Feature, I'm sure there will be a big market. It all sounds great to me."I think that the new faction rank visibility will help the faction market too. I do think that a more favourable rate for buying FP in bigger batches, or a reduction in the surcharge for a smuggler to /delegate, would help keep us more competitive with faction farmers (ground or space), but I think these changes are really good anyway. All the faction buying that this is bound to create seems like a good money sink to help the economy too.
You have to be overt in space to gain faction. I would say, while yes it does suck that we have 'competition', the folks in space going overt earn what they're getting. Not only that, but you can use it to your advantage as well. People still line up to purchase faction.

Hmm, well.....
I kinda always thought it was odd to display what you were anyway. (Of course, I always have my "Fixer" tag up, so I'm guilty as anyone else)
Not me, I have never ever had a rank tag displayed over my head, and I have been playing since launch.
By the way, is the 'no title not sticking upon relog' bug finally fixed now?
