Yeah, there are some idiots out there.
*pats a Geonosian Sonic Blaster sliced for 25% damage that someone didn't want to pay for*

I charge a straight 5k per item, even as just a Slicer. I make sure they know about the master bonus, along with making sure they know it's random. Some turn away, some don't care. I don't do alot of business, but I do some simply because I'm one of the few Slicers running around with my tag on late at night.
I figure if people can afford 10-15k doc buffs and 100k (10) crates of brandy, they can afford a straight 5k price. I don't offer anydiscountfor full suits either, my time is worth the same no matter how much you want me to slice. If anybody gets rude, I walk away and tell them to find a Master Smuggler.

A thread has just been started on Chimaera board.
I think Smugglers should set a standard fee. A slice will cost this standard fee at least. You would obviously charge more if you are asked to slice at an inconveniant time.
My standard fee would be 8k per slice, this would go up to 10k per slice if I was gonna miss my shuttle because of slicing.

Friends get slices for free, but can tip whatever they want.
Others 10k per slice, i have to earn the upkeep for my harvesters and my factory and my houses. But the price increases alot if the costumer misbehaves. it doesn't take much to raise the price, telling that the want instead of would like doubles the price, using the word please again lowers halves the price.
I have my tools stored in my droid and if i have to call it to get my tools the price goes up.
If i have to travel somewhere or miss a shuttle i price goes up.
I spent alot of time freebie slicing in Mos Eisley, but only for the newbies, /examine helps alot to see if they have mastered any professions or have too many loaction badges.
I'm very sad to admit that my temper have suffered alot in the time i've played this game.
Back in the day i used to have almost endless patience, not i get annoyed if i have to tell someone something more then ones.

LEIA: The technical readouts of that battle station. I only hope that
when the data is analyzed, a weakness can be found. It's not over yet!
HAN: It is for me, sister! Look, I ain't in this for your revolution,
and I'm not in it for you, Princess. I expect to be well paid. I'm in
it for the money!
LEIA: You needn't worry about your reward. If money is all that you
love, then that's what you'll receive!

I try not to public slice anymore, occasionally I help out a newb, but mostly I slice for guild and for a list of WS and AS I have had good dealings with. Then I let them tell me what it's worth, and keep me more than comfortably a multi-millionare. Trust me get in good with a few crafters and you will never have to slice a single weapon again.
