Wow it seems to me that smugglers were on the out. Since the revamp has been pushed back I have noticed more and more people dropping the profession! My business for slicing and selling faction points has been up as of late as well! I guess that we will see as time goes

I dunno about "Everyone." Smuggler was my first profession mastered (sometime in Sept i think) and I am still a master to this day. It's not a trend for me, it's a lifestyle 
And I still get dozens on /tells for slicing anytime I hit a bustling starport (Coronet and Theed) and have my master tag up. So there's still a need for more smugglers it seems if I can get swapped when I'm just passing through a place.

Well..none that are Smugglers for anything but Dirty Fighting. Which is annoying..I can't slice my own weapons just yet

I think if you need to compete for Smuggler, your crazy and not a good smuggler! as we have 3 unique sellable specialities
1. Spices, hook 'em when the're young!
2. Slicing, weapons armor and those favorite little containers!
3. Faction Points/perks, long live the empire!
Im a faction guy, love it, gets me more into the "Star Wars" of the game, on intrepid just outside of Bestine there's gotta to be 1 out of every 3 houses is a smuggler vendor! Spices as far as you can see!
I heard that image designer is a trendy profession! I think that there a few people that dreamed of being Han Solo when they were kids, so of course it's trendy, you just got to be better then the other smugglers! better prices, better rep!
Set prices are for suckers, sell it for what ever you can get for it, but dont rip off your good customers!

You guys say these things and it makes the devs think our profession is just fine the way it is. No wonder it is taking them so long to fulfill their promise. The only reason most people get Smuggler is because they want to be a Smuggler, like their hero Han Solo. But that's not what we do right now. So a lot of people drop it. And others, like me, keep it for the title- to roleplay and pretend I'm a Han Solo. But the main reason I keep it is for what's to come.

I just finished my slicing grind tonight, and I must say, it is the more enjoyable grinds of the game. I am not however, lookign forward to grinding spices. But that 25% discount on all faction perks is looking mighty tasty sitting up there. I am enjoying the smuggling prof, even if I have not yet started smuggling anything. It is fun and you get to do illegal nasty things. Where the hell else am I gonna be able to break the law and get away with it.

It's funny that these concerns are still valid a year after the intial post of this thread but can't you let this thread rest in peace.
If you want to start a new thread regards to this you can, and you can even set up a clicky or just the address to an older post to validate your points.
