It took me 2 months to finally push the yes button and sell back my master smuggler title. I felt sick as I sold all my underworld skills and my spice crafting abilities. I have kept my slicing IV and my last ditch IV (my only "pistoleer" special I use) because I just couldn't totally drop smuggler. I still cling to hope that maybe before NEXT YEAR I will have a reason to get my skills back,...as for now though:
"goobadooba bleebloblat,...and the squirrel went weeeee!"

LOL, for anyone who wanted this stickied, that';s just not gonna happen. Hell, I don't want this stikied. I made this cause I was outraged about the blatent lies and idiocy demonstrated in Blackmen's interview. Serious props to that reporter though. I have sent the link to this thread to several major computer game magazines. This kind of treatment needs to be brought to light.

I keep forgetting the forums are viewable by anyone anymore. Good call.

i guess what i wonder is...
are we directing our efforts correctly? i mean i see all the dev bashing (i call it that for simplicity sake's, not to insuate my agreement or non-agreement with it), but do we know if they are the ones making life difficult for us?
for all we know, their "lies" (and that is an incredibly harsh word, please try not use it in anger or too hastily) could be mistakes, mireads, overreaching..they are human afterall. they could be sitting down, running through all these great ideas, and then the PUBLISHERS come down and slap em around and make them work on total crap they dont want to work on.
SOE i think is where a lot of our anger and focus needs to be focused, not the devs. we should be working with them. i can't believe as a creator of a project this massive, any human beign could do what's being done to their own magnificant work. the devs have a vision, the publishers have a vision. the one with the most money gets to see their vision realised. the devs are probably going as crazy as we are everytime some stupid decision to make jedi more playable comes down the pipeline, taking away time from things they actually want to work on.
when i see any interview, it's always crappy lipservice, i don't know many programmers that fluent in doublespeak, it seems their being guided by their publisher puppetmasters. the PR lines -mostly- come from people who work for the bigger companies (lucasarts and SOE).
i've always been an advocate for "give them another chance" and for the first time, i dont feel that way anymore. i'm as POed as the next old-timer smuggler. i just want to make sure when we take up the torches and pitchforks, we go to the right place with our frustrations.
and if i'm wrong..fine..i'll go wherever the mob goes anyhow

Fish,
Thanks so much for posting this. I don't often post on these boards, though I read them all the time. I read that interview earlier today and was incensed. Most of the interview was just PR junk and it was very dissapointing. When I came down to that statement about Smuggler my jaw dropped to my chest. I just couldn't believe it.
I feel like I need to stop reading the SOE developer interviews about this game. Every time I do, I end up coming away angry from it. It's not even all the delays and changes... it's the insult to the intelligence of the gaming community. After reading that interview, I felt insulted. I'm not sure if Mr. Blackman is out of touch with what is going on, thinks his player base is too stupid to remember the truth andso gullible they'll eat all that up, or if heis just trying to put something out there to market Jedi, JtLand how "wonderful" the game is to prospective customers. But if that was supposed to be some sort of damage control... I just don't get it. In my eyes, it just made things far worse.
I don't understand where the priorites are coming from. No, I can't see the big picture like they can. I'm not on the inside.I understand they have a lot on their plate and running a game like this... continually developing it and improving it is challenging. I know that they have to make tough decisions and do things I might not agree with.
Still, I look sometimes at actions that have been taken and that are being taken and scratch my head.
At the very least, if they're going to make these changes. they could give it to us straight. That interview was just awful.
Anyway, thank you again for posting this. I couldn't have pointed it out any better myself.
Cheers,
Jacyn

Brilliant Post, but the chances of TH actually coming in here and answering?
Lets just say, he has his promotion now, the need to make it look like he actually cares what we say or think is no longer there.

About the same possibility as:
The Smuggler Revamp happening before JTL comes out... 0% Chance.
Developers putting the valuable items back into Locked Containers... 0% Chance.
