Hell...I woulda figured Kav or Caylin would have gotten at least a passing glance, simply because of their participation in the Smuggler forum, their knowledge of the profession, and their ideas for the future of the smuggler profession...

After all of that, why should either one of them HAVE to apply for the job?

on the ap situation.

I think it was pretty shortsighted to not post a request for apps. I did send in one, cause i read in the Jedi forum or somewhere about a guy getting some points for taking the initative to send one in, but that should not of been assumed.

That combined with :

• the appointment of a poster most folks do not know let alone concider a leader (from your list of nessesary traits in corro apps)


• add in the "kicking us while we're down" feeling of most long term smugglers at this point




• Smugglers not smugglers from day1


• Slicing borked for 2 months with us telling hte devs exsactly what was wrong.


• Spice experimentation taken


• Panic shot nerfed (needed but still feels cruddy to have a unfinshed profession nerfed)


• Holo's big promise of getting us our own dev,


• Green marine- who says hi and never comes back


• Q3P0 "smugglers need the most help"


• Top 5 questions that got basically no answer


• Basically everything San brings to you in the corro forum gets stonewalled with"redev"


• Months of Spice bugs no help


• RuneSaber pops in and never returns


• Flat refusal to answer questions about Game mechanics


• master box (COME ON how hard is it to put Slicing Master or some such?)


• TH quote: "Smugglers are not a combat class"


• IC thread to hang till april.


• FD nerfed to the point it has no purpous for a soloist


• Crackdown Fiasco (could make a sub-list here)


• and more but this is all off the Top of my head...sad that it is this much

The validity or background of any of these issues is not the point, we as a community have been shorted ont them all which is gonna wind the crank another twist. Add it all up and it is a big request to turn what was once the Pinnacle of community support and information, into a cesspool of malcontent.

I read LodekDall's history, all of it in the smuggler forum. he has some good post. not many but well thought out even keeled post. He has written once or twice on his vision of a corro and i hope he still holds thoes ideas cause their solid.

But know this TH. you have given him an uphill start with this Instant Corro Promotion. He will need you to help push him out of this I am afraid. No malice in this statment, no threat, just stating what i think willl be true. Take all this with even tone cause that is how i deliver things.

We need more two way communication and less broken promises. THe Smugglers have not just be ignored but lied to, i cannot for a moment think any one of you devs would want to lie to us, but if you stood in these shoes you would see all the staw on our backs.

LodekDall sorry to bring all this intothe thread. you should be happy to have to position, and I look forward to working with ya on the boards.

See now, thats a fair way of challenging me, and to be quite frank, you're right. Actually right around San's announcement, I re-wrote the candidacy opening letter and used it going forward but didnt get back here and post it. I assumed all you guys knew and would take advantage of any of the correspondent threads. Its the same post really.

Many did, but everyone didn't and if you feel slighted, then I apologize. Thats certainly not my intent.You make a lot of contributions and you are a strong voice in the smuggler community. All your hard work and reputation isn't going to dissappear because you didnt get the position and it doesnt mean your opinions will be lost either. Ihave read and included your work for consideration in the smuggler revamp (Iveviewed you're online documents).

Also, please keep in mind that these are not permanent positions. It's all good

Christ Thunderheart, how long does this go on and on and on?

I seem to recall a 'dev' being assigned to look into Smuggler issues like 4-5 MONTHS ago.

Are we starting this process ALL over again?

And could you address the utter lack of any point in the Crackdown as far as smugglers are concerned?

Regardless of how you view the Smuggler community, you personally lose face with the Smuggler community (at least those of us who have been here for a while) every time you post in this forum.

You outright ignore San's recommendation for his replacement (Kav). Then, you appoint someone leaving most of the community scratching their heads and going "HUH?!?". Finally, you brush off another well respected member of the community with your comments to Caylin.

Say what you will, and I'm sure you'll brush me off too, but your credibility is shot with me anyway.

I'll see what Lodek's got, and from his posts, he may work out alright. But, like Kav said, he's got an uphill battle to climb.

The best person to represent the Smuggler community is not necessarily the person best known on the Smuggler forums. I know there are a number of other candidates who have done an amazing job cataloging the many problems with the profession, anda lot of people who offeredgreat ideas to get us fixed up, but you shouldn't dismiss LodekDall before you even hear him out. Give the guy a shot first before you bring in the firing squad.
