They are not sperate effects, it is all tied up in the same effect, if one breaks you lose the entire effect.

Alrighty, consider me smacked by a Dev.

A little bit of a contradiction though when you said: "All roots do not break on damage". If concussion shot has a root, then why does it break on damage? Yes, I know you said they are not separate effects, but it seems like they should be.

I understand the benefit of having a daze + root even if they both break. With just a daze, your target can still move around. With daze + root, not only can your target do nothing, but it can't move around either.

There are missions in which you "deliver an item while hostiles attack you" in every profession. I still don't consider [Smuggler's Alliance] pilots to be Smugglers, nor 'Smuggling' - at least not any more than Rebel Pilots or Imperial Pilots might sometimes "smuggle", with a lower-case s - JFreeman - 10/6/04

" All roots do not break on damage " might have better been said as " not all roots break on damage " since in this case the root is tied to an effect that breaks on damage.

Someone said it was a cone. I was planning on picking up novice comando for the launcher pistol so I could smack a bit-o concussion on some fools, but if its a cone then I dont need to. Any clarification?

Then pick up smuggler yourself, AoE Mez everything then switch to the proton rifle and pick off people one by one.

I just wanted to say that I am a PvE gamer and yesterday concussion shot was doing me no good. Despite good line of sight I had the rooted target warp to my location everytime. I don't know if they recently changed something or not, but I never had that kind of problem before except with krayts in the graveyard.

Blixtev - on the commando part ... the proton rifle fix is a nice start ... but here is a list of other things still affecting it ...


aoe damage, does 0 damage to surrounding target .. but does aggro them ... wouldn't be so bad if it did damage to all , rarely does a state effect or a flame dot even stick on an aoe mob ... (maybe 1 in 100 shots i have had a flame go to other mobs) ... and the lack of single shot type weapons (ones without an aoe , cone or line of sight type damage) makes it not to good ... the possible upcoming fix for elemental damage will make it nicer, and up the damage output on them ... but with some of the other things it still is a hard prof to find a reason to have around ...


(yes this is a new name, i just got around to registering on the forum, been playing for over a year tho... and have a char that has been master commando for about 9 months of that, including still one post CU ... that is with master smuggler .. so changes to both interest me) ...

Sweet I love it already. While you are looking at other smuggler attacks look over reckless shot again...its description still doesn't match up with its implementation.

Idunno if you are still around Blix but can one of the shots be just a plain root? And is panic shot still a cone?
