Actually Neocron was the first I knew of to incorporate twitch and RPG elements together. Instead of targetting attackables with a mouse then clicking the auto attack, You had to take aim with your reticles and click to attack. Your accuracy depended on your weaponskill, movement etc etc etc as well as how well you can aim.

Sorry I'm late to the party! Any dip left?

The one thing in the link that concerns me most, more than executive level changes, more than design and concept redirection, more than even pushing off smuggler revamp and combat rebalance, is this:

"...and server Migration, and that will probably include some server consolidation."

Server migration would be bad enough... data gets lost, corrupted, etc, when servers get switched, not to mention new connection issues, etc. The phrase "server consolidation" is the part thattroubles me the most. To me, this phrase represents a loss of "material goods" for our characters. Credits, personal belongings, unique or rare items, the types of things you work for months on ent to collect or create. The house in the perfect location, the outfith that lets you blend in at Mos Eisley while still hip and unique, the signature weapon that says more about you than the black duster... Perhaps skills, names, species and HAM settings would persist, perhaps not.

To keep things like this fair, either credits and material goods would need to come with you in inventory, or some magical container, or larger saftey deposit... *or* all servers get migrated, and we all restart... well, the ones who care enough to stay on and rebuild...

Now, where's that dip?

If you don't want me to "play the forums," then I suggest you make time playing the game more rewarding and less repetitive than "playing" here!
READ THIS before telling me I cannot complain about Smuggler

I could be wrong, but I hope I'm right... I think the server consolidation refers more to the physical equipment than the SWG server galaxies. I'm sure both companies are well aware of how many pissed off indivicuals they would have if they just started deleting entire servers worth of accounts and inventories. People will just straight up quit, and nobody wants en masse quits...

Over here... *passes the dip along*

Now the server consolidation as you describe it would indeed be terrible but I'm sure there is always something positive, maybe they at least won't continue to use windows servers... Actually I'm even ready to do a step backwards if things will be better half a year later thanks to that. If it goes on like this, the game will be just as lagging behind in content in three years as it is now.

This seems to be posted on ever forum.

Dont they have someone from Lucasarts watching over this whole project? I keep hearing this too but it doesnt make any sense. Lucasarts owns the game, taking it over would just mean new people would be writing the game. All they need is a new creative director. Im almost sure that Lucasarts didnt fit the bill for this whole game. SOE must own something (servers, ect).
