I mean come on now, it just makes sense!

Excellent suggestion!
This would alleviate my concerns for smugglers, such as myself, who don't have (or want)a second combat profession. As I stated in several posts yesterday, a lot of players don't play this game for the combat. Or enjoy mindlessly grinding through mobs in a bunker for hours upon hours. In all seriousness, if I enjoyed mindless grinding, I would have finished all of my opened FS boxes and joined the horde of rampant jedi in the game.
(Edited for additional thoughts)
Actually, better yet... have one or more space stations (or as someone else suggested, 'smugglerish' ground npc's) with repeatable space quests for tier 3 and 4 slicing components as a reward. Heck, limit them as to how many you can get in x amount of days, or say, one per server reset, that would be fine. This would solve the 'grinding' problem in space, as grinding is grinding, whether in a bunker or your ship.

- Smuggler is a ground profession, not a space profession - it has to be accessable (in it's entirety) through Empire Divided.
- You can't define a profession by a requirement for, or against, a second profession. This idea makes it advantageous, though not essential to have a combat profession. Taking that out is unnecessary, as you aren't required to provide the rare loot yourself.

As long as the each type of loot drop were as available on the ground as in space, and the drops were equal in rarity, where would the problem be, hmmmm?
All they are asking for is more options to find the loot, not places where noone but they can find it.

There is less (almost none generally, and none at allin DS) risk for hunting in space. As such, if an item, any item, is to be found in space loot tables, it should be a rarer occurence to balence the risk v gain with that of ground.

Well except for the fact that at least one dev has said, prior to JTL, that space will provide Smugglers with some real smuggling content...or something to that effect.
I'm terrible at pulling up old dev quotes but I've seen this one quoted numerous times.

Although It may hurt people who havent gotJTL, It's about time space and ground game were merged more (this is STAR Wars, after all), and if theres one prof that should bridge that gap, it should be Smuggler.
