I agree, and that would be the only way they'll ever get me to agree with A.

This was all discussed before when this poll was first started. We were asked to vote on the choices presented. While many, many people had ideas and options for an alternative to the cut and dry A and B, those 2 were the only ones we were presented with.

Zane what's with the jumping on this guy's posts all the time? I haven't see him post in anything but a calm manner and nothing personally attacking you in any way. You, howeverschizo-post all over him (and other's I've noticed) under the impression your some kind of infallable god. Either leave him alone or admit you want to sleep with him. Just stop hijacking every thread to satisify your petty needs. Act your age please (assuming your not 12).

He isn't worth the time. I already got temp forumban for arguing with him, so you know he's either the one that runs off and reports people that don't agree with him or he has "friends" that do it for him.

I hope now you see why Coldreboot. I logged on one day to see him blasting a couple people for no reason what so ever. They had differing opinions so he was flaming.I called him out for it. I guess you don't see the times he goes after me since a lot of those threads are deleted.

Now this part is for you Iawo:

1. I already told you I don't report people. You basicly have to be a degenerate using racial slurs on the forums for me to report you. I don't have anyone else report anyone either. I COULD CARE LESS ABOUT IT. If you got forum banned, you probably deserved it. I saw what you were posting before I took you on, like I said, I took you on because of that. You might want to turn that finger back at yourself.

2. This post of mine quoted right here had nothing inflamatory in it. This thread is long and a lot of the discussion about this poll is buried deep in the forums. I simply pointed out out what was said already in the past so you, and everyone else understood where this whole thing was coming from. Once again, point that finger back around because you're the one talking crap. I already backed off and tried to keep posts in response to you reasonable. If you want to continue this, I'm game, but you're the one calling for it... AGAIN. So don't go around saying I'm starting crap.

For everyone else:

OK folks, now to the issue that brought this up. I was one of many people who wanted an option C. I even asked why the hell we couldn't have an option C. Many, many people made very long and very constructive posts about ideas for good option Cs. A and B are what we have to work with. That's all I'm pointing out. That's all I'm trying to say. It's only the message, if you want to go after the people responsible for it, try going after the devs. They're the ones who aren't offering up option C.

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

Zane, it's commendable that yourun to the aid of others, I have done it myself. But at this point it may be better to just ignore someone who is clearly upsetting you so much. You might be a happier person for it. Everyone here is more than capable of fighting their own battles I'm sure, if the need calls for it.

Naa, he doesn't get me upset. I am a happy person.

I actually find it all really funny.

Now in the interest of trying to keep things civil, I'll leave my comments at that.

Hmm.. I normally wouldsay B because of spice selling... then again, I expect we'll be rewarded so little spice from the missons that we will want to keep it for ourselfs and not sell it at all. So make it A for me too.

i've never spammed in starport. never had to. enough people know who i am and what i do, that any slicing business i get is word of mouth. and that will continue if A happens. its quite nice really. you usually get people who are knowledgeable and fewer morons who say you'll steal their stuff. stick to your friends and your friends friends. its the only way to go.

On the sliced weapons not on vendors argument, I just REALLY think that pre-slicing shouldn't happen, PERIOD. It should be up to the CUSTOMER to decide how to slice it. I always HATE seeing pre-sliced weps on vendors, because if I want a specific type of slice, I'm SOL aren't I?

And on spices on vendors, who really makes a lot of money from that? It's just like when they converted the AUK's and WUK's, people were complaining about not being able to sell slicing stuff.

Option B....allow vendors to sell smuggler goods. I won't bother looking for option 'C',

As it is, we can't even get most of our own goods. I also feel players should be able to see their own used sliced goods easily. I don't believe the RP part of the profession should make selling more difficult for other smugglers and players. I would not mind if master smuggler is allowed a vendor to be used, strictly for anything smuggler related.Actually, it is a darn good idea. I will be more than happy to 'fence' sliced goods and spice for guildies and business associates using a smuggler vendor and not have to spam at starports.

Going to have to say.....B. I, like a few other minority people on this post think that it might just get a bit annoying to get tell and tell saying "Hey Mr. Smuggler, well you slice this for me". I really don't think the Fun of enjoying actually being a smuggler would last after a week or so.

A

Option for smuggler vendor...

Underworld 3 skill:
Smugglers get a mobile blackmarket vendor that spawns within the boundaries of a player city (at random) for a length of 1 day, each day. The smuggler can access the vendor (add/remove inventory) at all times, from where ever they are, but at Underworld 3 only can know what planet it is on. If a smuggler and client can't meet up in person, the Smuggler can tell the client what planet their vendor is on, and the client can search all of the player cities for it to purchase or offer items (for slicing purposes).

Master Smuggler skill:
Master Smugglers can get a Waypoint within 3000m of their vendor... this vastly reduces the search.

Smugglers get to name their vendor what ever they like, and also choose race, basic appearance and even "personality" (ala droids).

Limitations/hinderances on Black Market Vendors...

Limit 30 items total at Underworld 3, 40 items total at Underworld 4 and 50 items at Master... incoming and outgoing summed... this should keep the market vital and keep all smugglers in demand (not just elites). This would help to add some traffic to player cities (at least in a small way), and perhaps re-vitalize some of the dead cities...

Looking for a specific black market vendor has a level of difficulty this way, but they are abundant enough that if you need spice, it can be found pretty easily.

Make Black-market vendors smart and cautious... the first time you approach a smugglers black-market vendor, he doesn't trust you... you must complete a random mission for him to gain his confidence... Once you've done a mission for him, the BMV will always remember you. The mission should be CL based and require that the customer solos it... there would need to be some rules defined for the different types of BMV missions to assure that the Player solo's it (player specific TEF, group/heal detection, etc).

If an authority presence is within a defined distance (say 200m) of the BMV, he will just shake the customer off, because he's not going to get arrested. This would require a change to authority spawns (stormtrooper deployments, RSF spawns, Rebel spawns, etc)... they cannot be static unless mission created. When the Lambda drops off a deployment, the deployment should hang out for no longer than 20 minutes, then walk 50m in a random direction... Also the BMV would be somewhat mobile... randomly moving about the player city (casually of course).

EDIT:

A couple other ideas... Since there will be times when more than one BMV will be in the same player city (if truely random, and especially during a post-revamp FOTM) the BMVs should assume the faction affiliations of the Smuggler... IE, if a smuggler is Reb w/ full Jabba faction the BMV is in the same city as another whose Smuggler is Reb w/ full Valarian or Imp w/ full Jabba (etc... any opposing), the BMVs will have aggression towards each other.

This could, via some mechanics, result in agressive banter when within a certain distance of each other, and occasionally even result in a brawl. The brawl mechanics would be simple... they both go into a hate-mode and won't talk to any player until one wins a short battle. The victor would walk off to the other side of the city, and the loser would be incapped for 10 minutes, and unable to commence business until the timer is up. This would be awesome!

Faction could also be worked mildly into the BMV/Player relationship... perhaps this would give some advantage to Smugglers keeping positive Faction on both sides of the GCW, as well as some long-term content for a hopeful underworld factional system that means something (beyond aggro). The key would be that Players can never attack a BMV... griefing would be rampant.

EDIT2:
I got to thinking, and I don't think that Smugglers should be able to work with BMV inventory from anywhere... maybe have it as a feature of the smuggler mission terminals that will hopefully find their way in-game with the revamp... or "broker" NPCs as an alternative.

QFE : RocketDSM on the subject of the creation of a Non-Jedi Server
As for the argument of "The Jedi are bored, give them content and they'll go away." I actually do agree with you. However, there are two major problems to this argument. First, it would take a lot more coding time than just disabling the Old Man on one server. Second, all that time that would be devoted to a SINGLE PROFESSION is not being devoted to fixing bugs, adding general content, or making new expansions for the rest of the game population. So this is a classic problem of the needs of a few over the needs of the many. I can name seven professions that serve little to no purpose right now. You want more work done on one that's already absorbed an estimated 75% of the coding time for the past year. In my opinion, it's time to get the Jedi off the nipple and give the general population their turn.
