"This Emulator stuff is nothing more then a hobby for some really smart people. If someone can write an SWG emulatorthats any good, please apply for a job here. You also better know SQL pretty well and have an oracle database and a ton of other important stuff. SWGEmu is nothing more then a UI mod. Now if some genius ever pulled it off... well that would be another matter entirely. You seariously don't think we're worried about this do you?"

i would go with B, but at the same time i would like to see exp only making a dif to the high end slice range, i.e. 28% - 38% for 50% - 75% experimentation, 38% - 45% for 75% and higher exp. And at master level i would like to see that we have the option to slice for either encum/eff or speed/dmg. After all we are masters and are supposed to be skilled in what we do, we should have the choice of what slice type we get, to ensure that we are getting high end slice % the experimantation on clamps ( only clamps ) should make a diffrence. Why do i say only clamps? well most of us have no control over WUK'S and AUK'S as we cannot make them ourselfs, but a clamp can only be made by us, and as someone said earlier a knive is at the end of the day just a knive.

as for a clamp quality having an effect on slice outcome... **edit**? why?

a clamp tells you which wire to cut. end of story. it has nothing - and should have nothing - to do with the slice outcome.

i make more money repairing armor than i do slicing. it takes nearly 140 units of resource to slice a weapon. it takes 15 to repair a piece of armor. i can repair a suit of comp for less units of resource than it takes to slice just one piece, and i charge the same price. i always have people haggling with me over slicing prices, and i have never had anyone say no or try to haggle with my firm 2.5k per piece repaired.

(which brings me to haggling. people will spend 400k on a suit of comp, and perhaps another 400k for that extra few % of base protection, yet they start haggling when i say i charge 100cr per % increase on armor. im improving their armor by up to 45% yet they begrudge me that 25k for slicing a set.)

so lets make that 1120 units of resource that it takes to slice a suit of armor quality dependant. because i dont have enough headaches from the complete and total gimping of spice in the last two patches (the chef food imbalance, and the new *additional* downer penalty) now i should have to shell out double or triple the price for my slicing tools. oh, and make us able to choose which attribute we slice too, so that our business immediately drops to 1/3 of what it used to be since everyone is getting their desired attribute sliced. any more wonderful smuggler-gimping ideas?

slight miscalculation. it takes 3 units of resource to repair a piece of armor, since a repair tool has 5 uses.

smugglers have enough trouble as-is, without having to compete with weaponsmiths and armorsmiths for high-quality resources.there are also enough scamming smugglers ruining our name without adding a new way to smuggler scam. "i sliced it with 99.9% tools", meanwhile slicing with 25% ones. there is NO WAY to check this, even if the devs make the % visible on smuggling tools (clamps, AUKs/WUKs), a dishonest smuggler can just keep one 99.9% tool to show customers, and use crappy ones for the actual slice.

dont get me wrong - i would do nothing but benefit from this patch. i have over 2.4 million units of the 999 conductivity copper that just spawned on corbantis. but i think such a change would hurt the smuggler profession, as well as general reputation, severely. same goes for the moronic 'choose what attribute you slice' idea and spice experimentation. seems to me that many people try to drum up support for ideas like this that they think may directly benefit them (perhaps because they want a good slice on their krayt pistol, or are frustrated about a bad slice on their uber comp armor) but dont take into consideration the negative implications itll have on the smuggler class as a whole.

its an incredibly stupid idea that would make an already frustrating class even more frustrating to play.fix what is broken, dont add more things to break.
