Thread: Smuggler's Guide to Selling Faction Points v1.3 by Dreven
You lose all ranks when you resign.

One question - do you loose you rank when you resign from one faction and join another - and then what happens if your come back to your original faction? Are youthen low ranking once more or does it store a rank for each side?
Trying to see if it's worth it to be able to switch sides or if it's better to just stay reb and if I need imp faction just do it late at night - cause I've not been able to make it to the imp recruiter while being an overt reb to even see what choices he will give me....
I might just be confused as to the whole process however!

Yes....you lose all your rank when you resign. If you join the opposite faction, then rejoin the original faction you have to completely work your way back through the ranks.
Excellent Info all thnx .. last doubt is .. what should I charge for Fraction Point Selling... just curiouse
Im new at this fraction selling ...
so If it costs 10k per 125 Fraction .. that means I should charge 15000 ..10K cost.. and 5k being my Profit right ..
Hehe, hey now, the feign death macro was posted by yours truly first.........which has saved my life twice now btw, check it on the smugglers chuckles.
If you are selling large ammounts of faction, doing all the clicking yourself is tedious. I prefer the loop method, and as the recruiter will take from your bank first, i move all my money to my wallet, leave the ammount given by the customer in my account - my profit, and hit the looped macro. With 2 second delays and 2 sets of buying faction every time i delegate, it comes out to 20 seconds for every round of delegation. this allows me, barring lag screwing up the macro, to time exactly how long it will take to give the customer all of their purchased faction. That way i can go afk and listen for tells from my customer while putzing in teh kitchen or watching tv. I helped one fellow purchase a large base, which for him cost 60k points that he didnt have. Needless to say it took a long time. we both went afk and i actually left to the mall for a while. Keep in mind my feign death macro was running the whole time ![]()
I'm typing this up more for my benefit than for any other reason...
For a Master Smuggler, the cost of purchasing faction is 80 cr per 1 faction point. To find the perfaction point cost (in credits = $FP) of transferingthe faction:
$FP = /delegate ratio * 80
For a Colonel, $FP = 1.18 * 80 = 94.4 credits
In another post someone asked how much could he expect to pay for 5000 faction points. Assuming you are a Colonel, your cost would be:
$FP * (# of requested faction points)
1.18 * 80 * 5,000 = 472,000 credits
The amount of faction you will need to purchase is:
5,000 * 1.18 = 5,900 faction points
Solution check:
5,900 * 80 = 472,000 credits

So, if you charge the individual 100 cr per faction point (Price) your profit will be:
[Price- ($FP* 80)] * ( # of requested faction points)
[100 - (1.18 * 80)] * 5000 = 28,000 credits
Solution check:
(100 * 5000) - (1.18 * 80 * 5000) = 28,000 credits
Am I on the right track here?
That works if you're an Imperial.
However, Rebels are only paying 72.46 creds / pt. when they buy from the recruiter. (138 points for 10k creds).
Sorry Daermoth for not referring to you Daer. It's been a while (a day or so) since I read it, and I had forgotten who had posted it....Please forgive me.....You get all my reb references
