Generally I agree... There should always be more Imperial presence, period. That's how itis in this time period. Rebels will whine, but maybe they could do something where when there's a small little skirmish, the Stormtroopers get much much weaker as to get killed by one shot so they are more of an annoyance than a threat, so that way it's not totally unfair, but also realistic to what we know in Star Wars-- Stormtroopers are not armored well at all.
For the record I am neutral. I'd much rather take a more realistic game than a 'fair' game.

YES! I CONCUR WHOLEHEARTEDLY
I'm even gonna go one step further and say amp up ALL the patrols so that Imps are getting harassed too. I'm Rebel to the bone but I would LOVE to see SWG be more dangerous- when I wasa kid, in the theater watching SW one of the things that thrilled me most was how dirty and DANGEROUS Star Wars was (this ain't Star Trek- this is Star WARS!).
So who else would get in on the action? What do we have out there?
Corsecs-
Fed Dub-
You could even throw a few roaming gangs of rival Hutts and the like. This way, I (who am pretty tight with Corsec Security for business reasons) would have a very easy time strolling around Coronet but Kor Vella would be a pain in my butt (which it is- more on that later).
An Imp might have it easy in Kor Vella but might get shot at on a regular basis in Coronet due to his low faction with corsec guards.
It would be doubly cool if they had their own version of Shock Troopers or Dark Troopers as well.
Now back to Kor Vella
I was running through town once and didn't "hear" when this trooper was trying to scan me and the next thing I knew I was Overt and shooting my way through the Starport. What followed was like 5 days of play with me being overt. That was exciting as hell because everything I did I was looking at my radar- having to speak to the right people so's I could trade stuff, going out of my way to get missions and groups. It sounds like a hassle but it really was interesting and fun.
I saved a screenie where I actually traded disk with this group of Imps and we role play because she had to hire a neutral as a go between to make the deal go down.
But getting up to that point was funny as well it went like this:
ME: (overt) *whispers* just meet me in the cantina.
SHE: Okay.
IMP Friend: Yeah, you wouldn't want to be seen trading with any rebels.
ME: Yeah! Rebel scum!
IMP Friend: ButYOU arethe rebel.
ME: SHHHHHHH! Your gonna blow my cover man!!
IMP Friend: LOL.

It's certainly one of my pet peeves; that is, the Empire's presence not being felt, nor effectively shown. I'd love to see a garrison in every town, something heavily guarded and patrolled, even if it's not Storm troopers, you can have CorSec riot troops etc.
One can only hope it's something that will be looked at in things to come.

Putting Police/Storm Troopers in evey city is good... but on top of that, would be better to have a better penalty too.
Right now if your caught with Contraband you must hand over your pocket change... no milk money for you anymore.
If your caught being rebel they turn you overt and shoot you.
If you punch/slap/curse/bite/lick/kiss/hug a stormtrooper.. he beats you on the head, insults you and fines you several thousand Credits..
THAT should be the punishment for having Contraband, and if that contraband is Spice.. it should be confiscated as well(IMO).
The Whole rebel thing is good already, cept some people may prefer a TEF instead of being Overt, since it has near enough the same effect w/out the long wait to go Covert again. IMO it can stay as Overt, but with smugglers having a once per day skill to Insta-Covert someone, who is not currently in Combat(obviously), as if we smuggled them into hiding.
