Q to the friggin FE. i dont know how many times I've pointed that out. Getting angry about this solves nothing, you merely deprive yourself of content, and thats your choice. And also keep in mind that this was more than likely not SOE's choice at all. This came down from the LucasArts Overlords. Lucas knows his film will generate interest, and adding stuff to this game that reflects that interest will add more subscribers. it is a very smart financial move by LA. and as Yim pointed out, we were not moved back, we simply were not moved up. I think had it been SOE's decision, the Underworld would have been the next expansion, because many many more players besides smugglers want an active and vibrant underworld.

It is marketing used to drive membership, like it or not right or wrong. It is what it is......
I had no idea this was coming but Im not suprised and Im shocked you guys are. We all know SOE is all about the $$ regardless of story time lines. To eveyone other there, please dont think Im shruging off our revamp because im not I want us worked on as much as anyone and if you read any of my FD posts you know I went to war over it. This expansion had to be in the works for a long, long time. We were not pushed back because of it, we were just not moved up and yes it sucks but it is what it is. SOE wants membership not smuggler fixed. Sadly they will fix us when they get to it and all the anger or boycots will simply not change that.

I think I'll wait until they fix a date for a revamp....
It was someone else's idea, but I liked it so much I stole it.

May 5! So they've got 8 weeks tops to run CURB alpha and then the beta for both of these. That stuff's got to be starting within a week or two then, you'd think.
I don't know, I'm actually kind of happy with this. The timeline is much, much sooner than I expected to get the CURB out there, and we get a new expansion along with it. Now, if they don't prove they're starting on us immediately afterwards, my wrath is going to be nigh-on Biblical in scope, but this is honestly much more progress than I was estimating, and gives me hope for a real revamp before the year is out.

Nope, not just you...I'll be doing the same. In fact iagree with many of your sentiments posted in the other threads. As much as I don't like the possibility of us being pushed aside again (it is only a possibility), we knew that something like this was coming and it needs to happen for marketing purposes if anything. It won't stop me from enjoying the game...just mroe anxious for our turn.

I'll get it. I am mostly curious about space mining so i will get the expantion thoit should be an artisan funtion. But then smuggling in space should be a smuggler fuction so maybe every one will be able to space mine.

hmmmm... 25... that's more than I really expected it would be for us... hell, galaxies itself only costs 20 right now... IMO if thye're going to add something like space mining, which will probably affect the ENTIRE playerbase, non-jtl people even, they should have provided this as like an optional mini-expansion type thing. maybe a 15 buck expansion or something. and why do we have to pre-order it?
I thought IGN said it was a download.
This seems a bit muddled to me.

Ha! Good point! I have no idea...are they going t orun out of bandwidth and we are preordering timeslots to download?! (that's a joke, I don't really think that would happen)

I agree, while I will buy it I was a little shocked at how much they wanna charge for it.

You don't have to pre-order it. That is just an option that is available.
Now; with that aside.
I noticed that, there is absolutely no mention of Smuggling in the IGN article on this Expansion... and so I'll be the first to admit that I was wrong with my theories that the Smuggler Revamp/Underworld and Contraband Revamps would all be produced into the next Expansion for us.
Again; as with Everquest, SOE screws over its customers with promises of flashy, neat features that add to the game and not fix the game... and as usual (as they do with EQ) those features will likely only be available to those who buy the Expansion.
I quit Everquest because I got tired of all the bullsh!t that they pulled with every Expansion leaving the original content to rot and die without another glance at it. No, they have to add more content which will just be broken as well within a matter of months being released, and instead of following through with empty promises to fix it, they come out another 6 months later with yet another flashy Expansion with cool features that every one just has to have... that again will not fix the original content, but just add more problems on top of it all...
Interesting trend SOE has going here...

What!?
I was kinda thinkin' we would have the CURB *looks at watch* about right now! And then we would get the Revamp in the summer- but that's just me.
I'm glad that we are gonna have some new planet and wookie stuff but pissed at the same time because I KNOW we COULDA had a revamp coming on May 5th.

Oh and by the way guys.
ALL SOE game Expansions cost $25 - $29 dollars at release Date; even if the original game is cheaper.
They've been doing it with Everquest for about 6 years now and its gone on its 9th Expansion... that again has not fixed the original Old World issues but just added more issues on top of the issues added from the previous 8 Expansions.
