Make Money
So, why not give smugglers some missions at which they can make money (like 100k missions and such) smuggling goods for jabba or someone.
Make it so they have to keep smuggled item(s) in their inventory for a so many hours of play. After which they have to deliver it.
Now, they run a risk of getting scanned by any npc that can scan (corsec, imps, rebs, etc) and get busted for smuggling. At which time they get put on the terminals by their boss for not delivering.
Slicing, selling spice and other smuggler activities in public places liek starports would increase the risk of you getting scanned.
Just my $0.02
a few other conditions would probably have to be met to keep it balanced so smugglers could not exploit and just make tons of credits, etc. but a thought.
Gotta be honest - I'm only CL 54, and not a very good PvPer - so I'd be one to root ya and run like hell.
And damn the person who tells me that smugglers don't run. Some of us have to - Esp the Hybrid crafter ones.

Heres what i would like to see as far as player bounties..
firstly they probably shouldnt be worth as much as jedi bounties....
secondly we should get a some improved chance to avoid the tracking droid... like we get ((i think)) a better chance to avoid contraband scans the higher you get in underworld tree ((its possible i'm working with outdated info here i think that was how it worked... i havent been hit by a stormtrooper scn in a while))
thirdly we should be able to slice into the bounty terminal and either reduce the reward for our contract or maybe make it go away for a short time...

Wow, cpz. Your posts are like gold to my ears. It is a shame that I am turning into a BH assh0le though; I've got nothing else in this game left after the unchecked Jedi population has gotten out of hand and destroyed the GCW.
I really think I've had it with this game. It might be time to leave for good pretty soon. Even killing 2 Jedi a day, I don't feel like SWG is being put back where it should be. Now if every player respec'ed to BH and killed two Jedi a day, THEN this game would be set where it should be.
I really feel like I'm becoming a monster. Even an ingame friend saw me attacking one of his Jedi buddies (who I did not know) and screamed, "you used to be a good person!"
I have always loved the Jedi in the movies. Obi-wan is a loose mentor to me in many ways, but I cannot for the life of me wish more that Darth Vader would come into this game and "remove" them all.
This game's capacity for sustaining balanced, fun PvP in the civil war setting has historically and presently been severely lacking. Until they take Jedi out of the GCW or make them extremely rare in public, I'm not planning on coming back.
OPt-in, high-reward, etc etc is all good. I'm for it as long as what I get out of it matches the risk and as long as it's not a requirement. Which, I know, is what we're discussing here. But if we're asking again, I'm reiterating the details of my position on it.
ALSO, now tht we have a modified combat role in the CURB, I would add that if a BH has my mission, they should fail it if I succesfully elude them for a period of time. In other words, we're built to be best at GETTING AWAY from a BH that's chasing us, and doing so successfully should constitute a "win" for us. Insofar as one can "win" in PvP. I'd also recommend that a BH that fails a mission not be allowed to simply pick it right back up. Some consequences for failure on their part would be good. After all, risk/reward should be the case for them, too-- if they're going to ger paid well and get bragging rights, there should be something actually at stake for them. A vis system for failed bounties might be nice-- I don't know how BHs would feel about hunting each other, but I would imagine a lot of BHs would be in favor of getting to hunt BHs that fail repeatedly(this is assuming they balance out Jedi so the mortality rate decreases).
