yup the idea that underworld would work like hunting mods for creatures, like we can /examine people and see their visibility rating.
and of course it can be a base to evaluate our own risk / payment for transporting that dude

Its a great idea. No need to have it apply only to Jedi. i dont understand why just about everyone in game isnt eligiable for being placed on BH termianls for various high level offenses.

hello everyone, i just thought i would endorse this idea myself, to some extent. we definitely need some reason for PCs to want to or need to use multiplayer ships. you see, if every character who purchases JTL starts with a FREE ship, and any character who doesnt own JTL cant go into space anyway, what is really the point of a multi-person ship? entire groups will gather up in their own ships and head out before theyd risk getting into one ship only to all be killed at once...

Another very good point. Aside from the novelty of a little ship party, these ships would be largely useless except for impressing the heck out of new players...
JTL is also our best and only hope for content since we're the only pre-existing class geared toward space travel, so I really hope we work out something along these lines. I don't mean just a benefit on escaping inspections for ourselves either...another incentive for grouping would be nice... I hate the thought of space becoming an interplanetary Dantooine full of people soloing the space equivalent of Jantas....

What i think would be cool is being a combo smuggler/BH. Get a bounty on a jedi with the master smuggler title up. Lure him into false security then blast him into oblivion. Granted, this would have to be used loosely so you don't get found out.

How about this, you replace the pistol XP needed for underworld to "smuggling exp" and you have smuggler mission terminals, where you would need to find the person/shipment of contraband that needs smuggling and you smuggle them, with a chance of getting found by imps. and when you finish a smuggling mission you would get the smuggling exp needed.Holy off topic replies batman!! I may be missing something but what does that have to do with smuggler/BH Evasion and travel abilities?
News flash: Many good ideas come as a spin from another idea.
I've been saying that we need interactive missions for a while now. So far, the BH having the only missions that will lead you into contact with another PC in a MMORPG is kinda lame... It would be nice if smugglers (as we were supposed to be the other main class) had missions that would do the same. Have "Underworld" NPCs that smugglers can either get NPC transport/item smuggling missions from, or player interactive missions that were created by other players (non-smuggler) created using the same NPC. Maybe these NPCs could also act as a bazaar for smuggler items (spice, clamps, etc) since it always seemed stupid that these illegal items were all over the general bazaar...kinda like walking into Target to get a dimebag...
Back to the topic at hand, a Jedi (or other person needing safe transport) could create a mission on the NPC, then we could accept it (their credits go into a sort of escrow), we go out and pick them up, drop them off where they want to go, then we get the mission reward offered transferred to us.
I don't believe that this should be the only way for a person with a bounty on their head to travel, though. Remember that Jedi and other players will be able to have ships in JTL, just like us. The benefit should come in that being grouped with a smuggler who has your transport mission causes a roll depending on the skill of the smuggler to render you untrackable by the BH. They could take their own ship, but be subject to attack as they load into space and the such.
This shouldn't be restricted to only Jedi though. There should be consequences to having sliced weapons/armor/using spice in public. Have patrolling stormies and probots up the scans, and then give you points toward having a mission put on you if you get caught with said items. This would not be "forcing" PvP on people that don't want it since nobody is "making" you get everything you own sliced and putting muon in your button bar. These things are supposed to be illegal and done by those willing to take a risk for a little extra edge...they shouldn't be the norm. Even in the western US people don't automatically take a new hunting rifle to "the vet" that lives in a trailer at the end of a long gravel road to have it "tweaked" to fire full-auto (then yell at him for speed slicing when you TOLD him you wanted damage.../sigh). If you get stopped by the police with a automatic weapon you're going to lose more than $50 and 10 faction.
Oh, and being able to see how hot people are on the terminals with a little color coded tag like the "consider" one is a great idea. Then we could charge people to tell them how hot they are.

Hmm, this topic has put a little thought into my head.
Imagine, if you will, a world where players could not travel openly if they had a bounty on their head. They had to hire a smuggler to smuggle them. You know, it's kind of like the first movie. Obi Wan had to hire the Solo to get him off of Tat because it wasn't safe for the known Jedi to travel openly.
Implementation:
Player with a price on his or her head enters a star port. Player is ejected from the star port. Message appears on the player's screen.
'There is a price on your head and you see several people inside waiting for you. You can't travel this way, it's too dangerous. You need to find a smuggler to get you off of this world.'
what would u think about this, so in JLS, some players with high bounties, wouldn't be able to use starports anymore and it can be risky for em to use their own ship, so they could contact smugglers to travel in their (our) ship and have less visibility like down from 100% to 50%, still with the risk to be attacked and tracked by BH.
so if the dude gets attacked/tracked while he's in our ship, we get visibility as well.
I think it's one of the greates idea I ever saw bout JLS/smuggler revamp

I like this idea, but what if it was anyone with a bounty or any overt rebel? after all, the port authorities wouldn't be letting any overts on board a public transport, and they would try to delay them getting aboard they're own ship(s) until thte authorities arrived. grouping with the smuggler would give a chance of hiding their TEF according to their smuggling ability.
On a side note, what about making some of these weapons illegal, sliced or not? According to Eu, some of them should be, but nothing has been implemented in this game unless it has been sliced. This would have to wait until the CB, and hopefully, some of the weapon issues can be solved. (I remember reading that the Dl44 was an illegal weapon because of it's firepower, being able to punch through the hull of a ship, almost with the same power as a rifle, but with less ammo....I believe it's in the essential guide to weapons and vehicles book. Besides, what tyrant (the emporer) would let his populace roam the streets carrying any weapon they pleased..."oh this flame thrower? it's for personal defence, but don't worry, I haven't modified it in any way." /sarcasmoff

it s a very very good idea!!
and i have an other to complete the first idea.
when someone appear on bh terminals he can t leave the planete so he must contact a master smuggler, tell him to ask how to go away from this planete and pay him. at this moment ths master smuggler activate a commande who group the master smuggler and the customer. At this moment the smuggler can be attacked by the bh who are chasing the customer. For the smuggler the only way to don t be attacked by the bh is: die
or escape with the customer on an other planet and finish the his contract with the customer or the customer is killed by the bh.
After a waypoint is randomly generated and the master smuggler and his customer must go at this point to be evacuate ( it s like an evacuation point for special commando irl) ......but the waypoint is gived too to the bh to give him a chance to intercept them. we must feel tracked by a dangerous personn, by someone who will kill you, a bh is not a joker, it s a hunter!( images: smuggler and the prey runs , chased by the bh who shot several time at them and at the lastsecond they succes to escape , climb in the spaceship and fly away. it like in action movies).
after the mission master smuggler earn some visibility point.
i hope that a dev will read this post.
