That sounds like a nasty bug. I am currently feigning death waiting for my HAM to heal so I can finish wailing on 5 nightsisters. Would really hate for it to fail on me hehe.

I had / have the same problem.. I was in the Geo caves the first time the problem came up and I couldn't FD for about 3 days till I took a death (pvp) dunno if a regular death woulda done the same thing but since that death it was working again.. Till last night.. I was out at the krayt graveyard with a guildy fighting some krayts and some jerk off rebel who was apparently pissed off that I killed 2 other rebs on a krayt minutes earlier trains a second krayt on me while I'm already tanking one.. Here's where another problem started, after killing the first krayt I tell my guildy to hop on his bike and ride off and I'm just gonna FD for now since it was a quest krayt, So I hit my FD and get the message "You must be in combat to Feign Death" while the whole time the krayt is hitting me. I tried a few more times and got the same thing each time. It eventually left me alone and roamed off after the first jerkoff who trained it..
I haven't tried to FD again since then, but something is definatly messed up with it.

Post that info here and I'll take the results back to the Correspondent Forum for some answers...If there is a bug causing Feign Death to not work, even in one specific area, I'll work to see it get's fixed ASAP...
i press it till it does work. And I was on tat near bestine today when it happened, but the other part the animals just waiting for you has alway been that way.

Can you nudge greenmarine to fix everything I mentioned too? Would be nice for it to get fixed soon or by combat revamp (before smuggler revamp). One can dream...

i have problems 3 out of 10 times
- Were you indoors or outdoors when it seemed to fail mostly?
all were indoord in my case
- Did you notice it failing while fighting a specific NPC or in a Specific Area (or is the same everywhere against anyone)? If yes, what NPC or what Area?
all were NPC in the geo cave
- Were you grouped at the time?
yes grouped in every instance
the errors i get are either i have to be incombat even tho i am or it just will not FD period

I ahve not run the Geo Caves for a while now so not really sure how it's working in there, especially after the publish. But I am a Master Smuggler, and I would say that I ahe noticed FD working MORE sporadicly recently. I'd have to say I use the skill often, especiially being a samage magnate wookiee, I've nearly made a religion out of it's use. I have not had the FD fail on me so much as having it stick. What happens is that occasionally when I use FD, if the aggro is taken off (usually by another group member) before the aggro can damage me, the FD has a habit of stickin. For example, a few days ago we wre hunting Nightsister Elders, I FD'd when I was getting in trouble, Elder was pulled of of me before she could damage me and complete the FD cycle. It was anothe, perhaps8 minutes, right as the Edler was about to die, I noticed I still had the FD icon next to my HAM. She teleported next to me damaged me and I immediately FD'd.
Not sure if this helps at all, but it seems that the FD skill simply has a knack for just working whenever IT feels like working.
