PvP needs a TON of work, not just feign death. Sure its the piece of the broken puzzle we own, but its insignificant compared to the overall screwed-up-ness of the PvP/GCW.

Like I said, the CU is not perfect, but we are closer than we were before with very little being over powered (there are some underpowerd proffs, but I'd rather have that then one or two overpowered ones).

Have fun, and dont have an anurism when you reply here monky man

First off, I'm a fish-man, not a monkey Second, yur right, I squeal during growing pains, some of us lose faith in the midst. So yes I hope things keep getting better.

After my little post, I ran into a jedi without defense skills, he asked me to help him hunt Krayt Dragons. It was just him and me, (a moncal merchant, smuggler, master doc). We pwned Giant Krayt Dragons, lvl 86 or so,,, FD worked perfectly in the tough spots, and I was able get up and rez the jedi if all else failed, we went about and collected 2 pearls for the guy and a bunch of stuff for me. Not bad for lvl65,, which is what the template was made for, allows me to have my vendors, rez, heal, buff, FD, and last ditch (which is admittedly erratic and works with mixed results, as it should I suppose, probably more useful for BHs)

Had fun, no anurisms or temper tantrums, and I'm still a fish-man

so justin timberlake, you played the lamest template, containing the most unbalanced prof, used unbalanced resources to make unbalanced poison/disease and think that was an accomplishement? man you could pvp running a macro with stupid fencer/cm....which is why it was fotm

sad you never tried a prof where you'd actually have to use your brain and skills for a change

I got bored beating just about everyone including jedi with my tkm/m smug m pistols template...So I went for a challenge....to bad you never went beyond fotm templates , but is does explain your skewed view on pre-curb

Getting rid of mind attacking was by far the best thing the CU did. Why use antying else but stun and attack mind? I mean, I bought a 5 million credit geo-blaster because I had to have one to do anything. Of course I used it maybe twice in PvP when I realized that it didn't help me that much since I didn't have a FOTM template.

Got to be riflemen or fencer. Anything else just simply didn't do ANYTHING agaisnt a fully buffed synthed composete ONLY armor people used.

God pre-cu was so cookie-cutter have to do this or die setup.

That said, lvls in post-cu was a bad idea imo. With one look you can decide who to leave out ofa group, who you can beat in pvp. It shifted EVERYTHING to endgame. Which means there is NOTHING to do untill yoru CL 80. Well of course there are things to do untill then, but you are too busy trying to get the next lvl that you dont stop to find them untill your lvl 80 and they give no xp. lol

Lose lose on most of the content of the game.

Combat and proffesion balancing is the strength of the CU, the weakness is the generic and sometimes subtle shifts in combat effected areas of the game.

Solution would be to make lvls not veiwable by and to players. Take out damage modifyers for PvP (low lvl peeps can't do much damge anyway with bad specials and bad wepons) and reduce it severly for PvE. I shouldnt be able to beat a lvl 80 as a lvl 40 by myself. But I should be able to beat a lvl 80 as a lvl 70, although difficult. Right now itsa purple con if im not mistaken.

The reason they did this was to keep high lvlers from beating on nooby baddies and taking low lvlers xp. Problem now is that the low levelers just find high level groups anways (except on starting planents where few high lvlrs "grind" anyway). If I kill a lvl 50-70 as a lvl 80 I should get mediocre xp, because it takes a good bit of time to do, and taking on about 10 of them can get deadly really fast, so its still worth the risk of a little xp.

Basicaly they just need to make it so that lvls dont quite mean so much. I shoudl feel the difference btween a lvl 80 and 81 but subltly. Right now I could fight a lvl 81 without knowing its lvl and tell you which it is, its so distinct.

Anyhow, I digress. Point is, the CU has provided a much better pallate of colors to paint a balanced game with. I cannot even imagine going back now. Even when I played CU on TC, I found it VERY hard to go back to playing on live before it hit.

So what your saying is, is that the pre-cu was still good as long as people didn't play the most used fotm at the time. Your asking him to have played proffesions that weren't the best in order to have to use some mind. Problem is those fotm temps were TONS better than the alternatives. So much so that most templates didn't stand a chance, especially since specials weren't inter proffesion as they are now.

So, you have to gimp yourself in order to force yourself to use your brain. Sounds like an award winning game system to me.

And fish boy, I was referying to bloodmonk "monky man" (no e)

I thought this was a thread about problems with Feign Death in PvP.

Why is a thread about whether or not Feign Death is broken, 90% bickering about template choices?

Is this how the Smuggler forum is all the time?

This isrediculous. FOTM orDefend FOTM? Who cares? How do 8-year-olds learn to use the forums?
How about new ones,

So what your saying is, we shouldn't be able to talk about proffesions in a proffesion board?

Just clarification.

Start your own thread on the topic "FOTM templates really clench my anus" or "I love my FOTM template because someone else hates it" or whatever....

That way people don't have to sift through so much garbage to get some information/feedback on the topic of a thread

Read the original post of this thread and it has nothing to do with what you, they, or we are talking about.

There are supposed to be counters for Feign Death; part of the CU design was supposed to include counters for most combat moves, feign death included.

We've been over this to some extent before in another thread; I know there are some specials/abilities without apparent counters and I don't know if these are the exception to the rule, or if the system has failed and they're issues that need addressing. Regardless though, there are supposed to be counters for FD.

Um is there a counter for the j3dis no DB buff that BHs that could use on the j3di instantly after they use the buff draining there force pool? I would like to know cuz every move is SUPPOSED to have a counter, now I am not a j3di hunter yet but my buds are and I would like to tell them all the counter for the no DB j3di buff. By the way if I do need to use FD and I get pulled out of it instantly after using it bug or no I die, the ONLY counter to FD should be failing to FD (I wouldn’t mind making it harder to pull if it meant not being able to be attacked) cuz you die either way now successful or not.

Have a smugglery day.

I'm sorry, but I just cannot imagine going back to pre-cu. Sure there are problems, now, but there were problems then. Dont you rembmer how combat was? It was all macroed. I never had to think, never had a chance to use my suprior intelect. Who had the fastest and best gun won.

COMPLETE AND UTTER NONSENSE

and spewing that you just proved your "suprior intelect" is non-existant....

pre-curb combat was much harder to master than the current slow-motion healing-centric combat, the really dumbed down the combat....and you seem to be part of the target audience for the dumbening

Yes, because spamming Unarmed Hit 3 over and over took much more intelligence. Oh wait, I know. Using a low damage, high DoT weapon and spamming one special attack over and over took more intelligence. Or perhaps buying 90% resistant armor took more intelligence. Hmmm. I must bow to your superior intellect.
