KyrYxus... you nearly brought a tear to my eye. Bravo.

I guess it doesn't bother me so much if people respec-ed to smuggler. But it really does. It seems fundamentally wrong that a master smuggler doesn't know how to slice. The same way it would be fundamentally wrong if a master dancer didn't know how to do anything besides /dance and the way it would be wrong if a master bounty hunter didn't know how to use investigation droids. I understand giving people the chance to try out other professions... it makes sense in one way, but it screws with the role-play aspect of the game. <shrug>

And the argument that 'every profession has a grind so don't whine about me not earning the master title' is a bunch of crap. Is the pistoleer grind the same as the pre-CU smuggler grind? no, not at all. If you think it's the same, then... whatever. Personally, I thought grinding out a profession by just killing things over and over again with the same weapon was pretty unexciting. It's the journey that molds the smuggler, dammit!

Anyway. Respec, use FANs and play around with spices if you want. The game's supposed to be fun, have fun!

Respec smugglers don't annoy me near as much as the loss of slicing and spicing xp to grind up. I'd love for smuggler to need 4 types of xp. Smuggling, slicing, spicing, and pistol. Dreams I know....

I used to be a Master Smuggler/Master TKM with a bit of dabbling in Pistols and I respeced to Master Smuggler/Master BH again with some dabbling in Pistols - and I know that I might get skinned for that change over at the BH forum...

I personally could care less about new Smugglers - maybe it takes a bit of the "Tell Hell" off me when it comes to slices and spices - but what I really would appreciate is that they'd read the stickies first before posting any questions concerning the profession... To me that is just common courtesy...

Meh, you're just mad cause I'm a prettier smuggler then you and I only had to go out and poke a gamillion animals in the butt with needles for it!!

Honestly, despite what you think, we all put in the time and the work. All professions in this game have their own challenges and trials. Unless you've grinded every one, and believe me, I've come damn close to every one, you can't walk in everyone's shoes. For me, I respeced cause Jynn was an old tabletop RPG character and she was an information broker. Smuggler was as close as I could get. I don't know why I even did BE. I think I was drunk. I'm sure I was drunk. Don't hate the players. They're only doing what Sony allowed them to do. We're all equal in their eyes and we should be in eachother's as well. After all, we all love this game or we wouldn't still be here. As far as the Roleplaying aspect, some will, some won't. That certainly is nothing new. Immersion has long been thrown out the window in this game but luckily, I have selective hearing.
