I charge 500creds/PerWeaponLevel, and have not yet had one person get scared off by the price. This way, a level 50 Weapon gets me 25k. It isnt a bad price for them, and I make a bit of cash.Once I explain WHY I charge that much, people have always understood.
This is exactly what i chare and I charge 250 credits per level for frequent customers.

I won't even pay 5k for a slice. It's absurd. Especially when there is a 9 piece armor set or mulitple weapons to get sliced.
Oh? But you had no problem paying 15k for Dr. buffs in the old system that lasted for three hours?
A slice lasts the lifetime of the weapon/armor - and 5k's too much to ask?
Hope you don't come to me for a slice.
EDIT: Oh... Just realized your SIG... Naturally you wouldn't pay 5k for a slice...

15K for buffs was a good deal considering the fact you can do 3 missions and make that back plus more. Buffs were also a requirement to do anything and even more so, took alot of time and commitment from doctors.
Slices are not a requirement nor were they ever. Slices also don't benefit as much as buffs do unless you were to get a 30% damage slice. Smugglers also do not need to put as much time and effort into slicing itself or crafting the tools. Resource quality doesn't matter as it did for doctor buffs. It has also always been said that slicing armor/weapons makes them decay faster, something I never really checked into so I can't say 100%.
And what about my sig makes you think I wouldn't pay 5k for a slice?
Sorry, I think that quality matters now with the new way of slicing. That CU changed everything. And besides, Doctor make a schmatic and use a factory to crank out supplies, just like we do.
Stop thinking about how much you should charge for a slice and start thinking of how you can develop the client into a bigger payout. If you start with a fixed price, you will never or rarely get it increased, but if you base it on the service and you put more into the service relationship, you will get more out of it in the long run. Compliment them on their weapon, chat them up, do whatever it takes to develop a relationship...in short learn to play your role.
If you think of yourself only as a slicebot, you will only get 5k a slice, but if you think a little outside the small box the devs keep trying to put us in, add a little creativity into the mix and you will make more and have a more enjoyable time, which I think it more important when playing a game, no? I guess the simplist way to say it is, stop thinking of how much you can charge and start thinking of how can I get this customer to come to me every time he needs a slice and pay me more.
With the onslaught of respeckkers, there are a lot of smugglers out there, and competition is going to be hard you will need to start working harder for clients than ever before.

If there are no other smugglers around, 50k seems reasonable to me. I charge 10k since most of the people on my server think 100 credits per % or 3k is the norm.. but after the smuggler revamp, if slicing changes the way the IC thread showed, 50k would be a good price.
correct answer: charge what it is worth to you to take the time. Consider the time it takes to acquire your skills, make your tools, and then service the customer. Consider what else you could be doing with that time, and how much that free time is worth. When someoneinterrupts walking through the starport to get to buddies waiting to do some adventure, what is it worth to take 5 minutes out of free time and slice something?
Personally, I only get so much time to play, and I'd rather not do it at all. If I'mnot in a hurryand have some free time, 10k a slice. If I'm in a hurry, 20k. That's 180k for a suit of armor. When they say "wow, that's expensive." I say "yes, it is, but I have things to do". I slice for my guild mates for free, and I don't really have the skill to make money. I have much more profitable avenues, and much more entertaining things to do, so I don't like to slice for the public.
