Ah, that does make a lot of sense then. Plus with the advent of all these new "online casinos" it would no doubt be a nest of worms LucasArts wouldn't want opened.

Seems a bit on the pathetic side to me. They'll fully allow pazaak in KOTOR, but nothing reaching that level here. If its because this is online... jeez... Its not like you are playing with real money. Are they scared the younger ones will get addicted and start begging on the streets of Eisley so they can blow it all at Jabaas Sabaac tables? Of course they won't. They're to busy grinding Jedi.

(alternatively add it in that Underworld expansion we all know they are secretly planning somewhere, and then you can put it on that box instead)

Scarily, this was brought up in the Content Forum at Fan Fest...there's a reason (even though I don't like it, I guess I understand it) why the Hutt Casino was kind of scrapped. It's the same reason we won't see more than a smidgen of gambling in game.

Ahem... Which is???

Sorry... stupid me.

The reason (which I forgot to mention somehow ) was that by implementing something like the Hutt Casino, a level of gambling would have been reached that would have forced LucasArts to put "Gambling" on the box description, and they decided against it.

*blink* but... *twitch* I don't understand...

We couldn't play SWG without Tiggs. Now we can =)

Damn, you have *no* idea how much I want (REAL) gambling and gambling tools to get into the game..!

The Jubilee Wheel and the one-armed bandit in the hotels and in the Lucky Despot / Fallen Star just doesn't do it for me.

Therefore I made a way of gambling using the craftable dice in the game - you can see easy to follow rules for Alley Craps (or Pirate Craps as us Space Pirates call it) and Snake Eyes in my signature. ---> I recommend Alley Craps for a really fast-paced game anyone can join anytime, and you can play with 2 players or more (the more the merrier, and the higher the stakes!!)

I would have liked to have some sort of "gambling" interface though; could be something as simple as a modified trade-window where you could invite people to play with you; choosewhich game to play, place bets and see the dice roll.

Of the games I would love to have in the game would be FIRST AND FOREMOST Dejarik or Holo-chess. There is actually a guy in France who has made very clever rules for playing the game, and I really think this is "doable" in SWG. Go have a look at the way the game plays over at Star Wars Artisanal (I know, weird name!)

The second-most sought-after game for me would be SABACC. I would also like to see Pazaak

PS: Anyone who wants to play on the Infinity server, take contact! I'd be happy tosend you the rules to Alley Craps and Snake Eyes as an in-game email as well

so it's ok for the game to have the crafting of various forms of weapons and armorments, and the using of these items to slaughter both sentient and non-sentient beings...

not to mention the use of illegal narcotics, hired killing contracts, oppression of certain types of people...

but it's not ok to have a few card and dice games?

gee, that makes sense.

(not directed at you Veela, i know you have no say and are merely relaying their reason. but i'm just pointing out the rediculousness of this reason.)

We have lots of Casino Nights on Kettemoor with snake eyes being the most popular game by far. Nothing like getting 3 tables of players all cursing in spatial at the same time lol.
