This should be both an Image Designer and a Smuggler thing.

Why ? Well, a sucessful fake ID in an advanced tech society requires more than a face change, if a patrol shakes you down they'll run your ID through the planetary database and/or criminal one. If all you've had is a change of appearence you won't exist in the system. Therefore, you'd need an Image Designer to change your look and a Smuggler to slice into the system and insert a fake history for the ID in question and fake the physical ID itself.

Check out various Cyberpunk novels for ideas about how this can work.

The amusing thing about this is the potential for Bounty Hunters. Imagine, you're an Imperial BH, you want to get a Rebel Jedi so you pay for a fake ID, change to a Rebel and go sneak up on your Mark, odds are he orshewon't run because you'll show up as a friendly.

This could turn the entire Jedi population into twitching, nervous wrecks, unable to trust anyone outside of their town group of friends.

I like it !

They say that Jedi represent the best the Galaxy has to offer, they are smart, noble, wise, honourable and selfless, an example to us all. Jedi, they say, are like Eagles.
They also say that Bounty Hunters are dishonourable, cowardly killers with no respect for life or honour, who strike from ambush and exist only to kill. We are, they say, like Weasels.
Bounty Hunters are Weasels, Jedi are Eagles ? I can live with that, Eagles may soar but Weasels don't get sucked into Skyhopper jet intakes.

Just yesterday I read on the entertainer's forum that they want the ability to charm their way past dungeon guards and such for themselves or their groups.

Now I have nothing against entertainers or others wanting more for their profession, but why is it we have to watch every forum making sure they don't have a chance of getting what rightfully belongs to us?

I've always wished we had more contacts to bribe faction. Not just GCW faction but all factions within the game. Our contact could be as simple as a NPC on each planet that had connections on that planet to deal with all the factions there. We tell our contact that we need to gain some influence (faction) with some of the locals to do business in the area. The contact gives us a list of factions that we can bribe as well as how much it would cost per point to bribe them. We choose the faction and pay the contact x amount of cash for y amount of faction. Then we could then /delegate corsec 2000 to our customer...of course this would cost us 3000 corsec faction to transfer 2000 to someone else.

With that kind of set up we would have contacts across the galaxy as our skill descriptions describe. It shouldn't be too dificult since the coding for bribing already exists.

Another idea would be a little mini quest for our contact on each world to gain their trust so to speak. Completion of each mission would grant us access to another faction to bribe until we have access to all the contacts on that world. After doing so we'd get an email telling of us of another contact to speak to on the next world and then repeat the process with more mini quests and smuggler content.

Where are all the "I'm a smuggler, not a make-up artist" posts? common.... you know you wanna. Don't save it all for slicing discussions!

Seriously, go IDs! Why do people think that smugglers need to have anything to do with this? Because we sell faction? Because we're greedy and want more money (I can accept this one)?? This has less to do with smuggling and slicing weapons and selling spice.

FORGET THE DAMN DISGUISE PORTION FOR ONE FREAKING MINUTE AND REALISE WHAT IT IS SET UP TO DO. MASK FACTION. DO YOU SEE?

Sure, I can see it if I was stuffing someone into the trunk of my speeder and driving past a check-point, but how is "Here's a wig. Remember, you name is TK-1378" Smuggling or smuggling??

I vote for this to be an all ID skill.

I will say again for ONE MORE FREAKING TIME. IDs making disguise kits, for a bonus in a similar way to the way camo works now...sure... but when it comes to HIDING SOMEONES FACTION OUT IN THE FIELD, YOU SHOULD NEED US.

Jeez.

I have always been a heavy supporter of having Smugglers be able to fake papers/IDs as a form of maskscent for human mobs in PVE. Giving them a greater chance of finishing missions with factions you are usually not all that welcomed with. After all Smugglers usually can't pick who they are told to deliverthe goods to so they could be dealing withfactions that are hostile to them personally. I can also see this skill being given to ID.

If we aren't able to forge information then I would like to see Smuggler be able to do the same type of work but in space based content. Similar to IFF scramble, maybe even take that away and make it asimilar in some way to ordance (but without taking up the ordance spot) such as it being a limited use item. This keeps the resale strong and gives Nuetrals and maybe all classes the ability to IFF using faked transponder signalsthat Smugglers would make, illegal like of course.
