Architects making faction bases????? Does he not like smugglers or something?
And exactly why should smugglers be integral in buying bases in the first place? Maybe in delivering materials and computers and crap to the hidden rebel base on planet XXX... or some experimental weaponry to an imp base that isn't supposed to be fortfying... but that's about as close as I can come to justifying having *anything* to do with base building to be perfectly honest. Even things like floor plans and suth its the bothans that die to steal the info, not the smugglers actively stealing it.
If they want to really fix the system, they're going to have to look at things like this and if smugglers lose some territory on the fation perk side so be it.
The fact is that I think that smugglers need some role in moving military supplies. All we have are bases and turrets... this leaves little room for experimental gadgetry. Because of this, I think that we need a large part in moving these military objects, period.

So drop FP purchases all together and add more ways to earn FP on the up and up. Wouldn't bother me at all.
Aside from actually being a leigitmate money sink in this game what good is it?

- The ability forMerchants to bribe npc politicians as a way to contribute points that are counted towards Planetary Control. i.e. "x" credits = 1 PvP Base up for 24 hours.
He didn't suggest FP buying, some other guy did. I suggested a different way (because in some light, I DO agree with them.)
Please go read it and tell me what you think.

Smugglers are criminals.
But all criminals are not Smugglers.
And all combatants are not necessarily members of a faction, but people still got screwed in that one.
The point in all of this is that the skil is available to merchants. The reason they want it for themselves is we have little else to attract them to that tree, or even Smuggler for that matter. Because there's little reason to have the profession as a whole, other player professions continue to try and take us a part piece by piece.
If I said I wanted to have a tent, I would be told to take up Merchant. If I said I wanted to hunt Jedi, I would be told to take up BH. Why is it that when someone wants a piece of us, it's ok, but when want something as simple as illegal items to actually be illegal, we get reemed?
All Smugglers are not necessarily criminals, but they all exist in a gray area between legal and illegal, or else they wouldn't be Smugglers. As of RIGHT NOW, this is one of a few function facets of the profession for us. Maybe when revamps role around, and if/when we get to smuggle our role and purpose gets redefined, then MAYBE it's a topic worth discussing. Right now though, I'm going to fight any profession that tries to stick it's paw in my basket, just like I stick up for any profession facing the same. Maybe it's time the Merchants start to read what some of the players said about the recently proposed vendor changes. It might be a good idea not to try and take from some of the people who really stuck up for them, and to try and work against the mentality that they think they should get all the credits. (Not saying they're like that, but a lot of people want to think they are.)

He DID. But he actually suggested NOT buying FP, like the guy who began the thread did.

I need to knock some sense into you Yim. First you go on a tirade against a necro post, and now this!
I agree 5 stars

I agree with you. I'd like to see the skill expanded, I just don't think anybody else should be able to do it.
the problem is this... how many of you cary the resources to make armor? how many armorsmiths would go "hey, you have the resourcs, and i get a faction bonus, sure i'll do it" i'll tell you 1/10000000000000 people, its stealing all the smugglers things, and revamp in the works? hheheh not nly that...but im sure the amror will take specific resources to make, be expensive and so on... we DONT want to buy the scematics, then pay people to build it, and then have otehr people take our business away..Smugglers are there to be scoundrels, not have a rich porker go there and by things too! they dont have the connections

He needs to slow down. He's got himself going twelve different ways, and trying to get as many things fleshed out as he can that he's missing the point of what people are saying and totally ignoring the response from the actual professions that what he's talking about will effect.
