Thread: Smuggler Request to the Devs to clarify the changes on Feign Death. What does it mean to us?

Wait, let's examine the post again. This doesn't tell us any more than the original patch note. Does this mean that when someone uses FD they appear incapped so they can no longer be attacked, or is it actually the nerf I maybe mistakenly assumed in my rant?
A little more detail on how this works, please Tiggs!
Yep - despite Tigg's message in the Test Centre forum generated PAGES of messages begging for clarification - she's come back with that one liner.
Personally - I find it a little condescending, a little insulting, and shows the regards Smugglers are held in.
And this coming from *me* a self described "moderate, non confrontation" forum poster.
Granted, I've come to the conclusion that FD doesn't have a place in FD (sorry Yimaz) but the lack of information surrounding the mechanics of this change is what's driving me nutty.
<sigh>

She's right, you can be incapped, but you CAN'T be deathblowed. So feight death still works. The incap really makes no difference, even when it happens three times.
I would'nt be worried about this until you tried it out.
well, if it's as this person says, it's not so bad now is it?
It really isn't.
Then I have to be curious as to the point of having us go incapacitated in the first place.
Maybe to solve the Jedi/Smuggler thing, maybe the BHs get a mission success message because of the incap?
Oh and the thing is, that test mturnage did was last night...before the patch this thing was introduced on. I think a few of us should head to TC Gorath , use the frogs to get Master Smuggler than test this to death.
Then afterward at least we will know exactly how it work now. Right now way too many speculations to even know if I should be pleased or angry. lol

Maybe meant to break the combat like a real incap does so we can't be attacked further? If so, that's all well and good, but we'd like some detail on the subject and couldn't this have been accomplished in a much better way (the implementation AND the communication)?
No, it was working like she said last night, but feel free to test.

People, read his post!
He tested this last night!
The patch wasn't until this morning making those finding out of date and useless!
*put in large letters because people don't seem to see the other 5 posts from people saying this* ![]()
mturnage wrote:Basically now, you have to wait on the incapp timer to get back up. It used to be next hit you'd Feigh but be able to get right back up even though the damage went past your HAM. Now, you'll be incapped if the damage is more than the HAM, but your opponent(s) will NOT be able to deathblow you. With the recenct incap changes (making the wait time smaller) this really doesn't make a difference.
Well so long as the three-incap rule doesn't apply, then I'll give this a thumbs up. What if you incap three times while in fd and incap outside of it, will you die?

Tiggs wrote:IF you were feigning you could never be incapped. Now you can =)
What triggers the incapacitation? The very act of feigning death or when your opponent empties one of your HAM bars by shooting at you when you're down?
Can your opponent deal a deathblow to you when you're in this 'FD-incapped' state? Is there any difference between this state and normal incapacitation?
Could you please, please, take a minute or two and explain how exactly this system is supposed to work, leaving no room for speculation, instead of just reposting the oneliner from the patch notes and adding a smiley face?

And with a smiley like "All better!"
I want an explanation and further elaboration of the change as much as anyone here, but please remember Tiggs is neither designer, nor programmer; Tiggs went routing for an answer and this was what she got for us, quickly. I'm hoping she'll be able to respond with more detail soon...
