you know, long before i started playing this game, i had a friend who was telling me about it. About all the stuff you had to go through to get a jedi character and how he wasnt even exactly sure how, just rumors about what needed to be done. About how they ran into a jedi one night and it was SOOOO cool... And i thought wow what a great sounding game! They really did a great thing making it that tough and that special to become a jedi... Well done, it must have taken real vision not to just go the easy route and let everyone who wants to play a jedi. Oh well that was then.. now i am playing and paying monthly to watch a bunch of jedi battle it out in the cantina and streets. I guess its still a decent game, i'm still playing, a bit like an overpriced chat room now. but it sure doesnt feel at all like starwars..

I'm not sure about the nerfing of Jedi powers to make them just another similar profession.

I think the fact that they are so prolific is the problem at the moment.

I'm a firm believer in the game aping the flims. So, while I firmly believe that the Jedi should be more powerful (Ep3 Obi-wan and Anakin in a small lift massacre about 7 droids in seconds) I also firmly believe that they should have severely limited numbers.

I'm thinking around a dozen per server. At most.

Combine this with the radical idea of fixing the professions that are out there, and making mastering a profession MEAN something both in powers and more importantly content, then I think you'd get more players, who otherwise would go Jedi because of boredom as well as l33t delusions, diversifying into other professions.

I'm with maxtheusher here. Jedi should be rare. No argument.

This should not be the game for people who want to play Jedi. It's not as if there aren't enough games out there already to cater for that.

This game is for people who want to play a myriad of different characters in the Star Wars universe. How many other games are out there for the people who want to be a Smuggler, or Tailor, or... I could go on.

Rather than spending time creating newer and more elite and uber levels and professions, I want them to fix what we have and work within that framework.

The game already has the potential as it is to fulfil the dreams of most of the playerbase for this kind of game.

They just need to spend time fixing the engine, not adding go-faster stripes and fluffy dice.

Jedi players don't like anything that puts them at risk from losing their advantages.

Basically it's toning down Jedi strength to that of regular professions, but keeping everything else as it is.

Er... No it isnt, Its giving people who dont want to go for Jedi an option to gain that extra 50% another way, without having to be a Jedi.

So the experience requirements would be the same, experience loss remains, bounty missions, etc.

Yes, it would be a similar grind, with similar risks, NOONE is asking for an easy path here.

What's the point getting Jedi then?

*Bangs Head against wall*

Well, you get to play a Jedi, if that's not good enough for you, then don't....By keeping the requirements etc the same, it won't disregard all the effort people have put into it so far.

Listen Slappy. Do you mind if I call you Slappy? Doesn't matter...

Slappy, some people don't want to be Jedi, OK... it really is as simple as that... Yet the endgame currently dictates to become a powerful toon on your server and unlock your alt slot, etc, etc, THAT is exactly what you have to do.

Let me reiterate again, SOME PEOPLE JUST DON'T WANT TO BE A JEDI. That doesn't mean they dont want to improve their toons, and it doesnt mean they aren't willing to take risks to improve them, and invest time in doing it, THEY JUST DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO BECOME A JEDI TO DO IT.

Why don't people understand this...
