Speaking as a Scot, I can confirm Haggis is really good.

Just always remember - NEVER ask what's in it our how it's made...

And yes, haggis is actually pretty good depending on where you get it. Tastes like a spicey sausage.

I was there for only a couple weeks sadlyandstayed mostlyaround Edinburgh. The place I was staying inwas a supporter of the 'Traditional Scottish Breakfast' so I was quitehappy there

I think it is cool that all professions get to be a part, not just the combat professions. I like the idea of all professions getting some extras and fixes and goodies out of this, helping round out the game as a whole, including the combat portion. I like to see some of the love the lesser played professions will get, and some of the extras that crafters and medics might see.

Its funny how we treat Devs like gods and the like(even when we sometimes dont like them)its a miracle when they make their presence known.

Expect this to be cool and colorful? Well me too, sorry!

Well with smuggler revamp I think somewhat tongue incheek mentioned in the in concept page, as 'Long Long awaited' or some such similar perhaps its gettting through that we >20% of the server, that use the forums, should feel honoured that our under representative (.i.e. Forum users in general as a proportion of server users)correspondent will get a chance to attend this forum, or were TH's reported words taken out of context?

How can a guy with one comment, belittle the attempts, and legitimate cries for fixing the brokenn parts of the game, and another, also intimate that we have a valid part in the solution to the problems. Its shocking how the game has spiralled into JK Online. Having said that an appearance is greatfully recieved and we can all hope that wewont have wasted a afull years subscription before getting the game we expected in live.

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

That's not true. I'm sure if the rifleman correspondent showed up, they would be delighted.

However in the cases of a few of our correspondents they will not be able to attend. Some are overseas and there were problems with bringing them here. Others simply have other pressing engagements.

With all the red-tape over there, I have a feeling that with a late selection process for the new correspondent, there just isn't going to be a way to provide transportation for them. If it takes a few weeks to get a piece of office equipment that costs 15 dollars, I'm sure it takes longer to get plane tickets worth several hundred.

No confidence. Another "wait and see" tactic.

The point of the summit is to go over the combat balance overview and implementation details.

The correspondents not only represent their professions, but also their communities. They also know the game very very well.

The summit is to talk about the Combat Balance details and as a whole. It is to answer questions, go over the details and set up a plan to start testing this on a Combat Balance sandbox (server). It will be very focused.

Before the summit, I will have 1, maybe 2 vision docs to share with the community. What we will come out of this with is that the correspodents will get a chance to understand the coming changes so they can be understood and communicated. It is also to hear what the correspondents have to add to the discussion.

After that, we'll see posts by the correspondents and then we will get prepped for the sandbox server. I've already spoken with the team and we are also going to add the correspondents Top 5 picks from each profession to also come on to the sandbox server and take part in the testing.

How much impact will the correspondants have to these discussions TH? What I mean is that when the Developers came out with a Smuggler Revamp Vision Doc Proposal for Publish 10it was met with an angry outcry from the Smuggler Community. The Vision Document was pulled and the Revamp itself was put on hold till a better plan of action could be found.

What I am trying to ask is that are the Correspondants arriving in Austin just there to examine the new proposal and offer creative input in the form of tweaking the vision. Or will they have enough impact on the discussion to say "This is completely worthless for my class, a new vision doc needs to be organized."

You might guess from my name that I also live in Austin, so don't leave me out!

However, I'm starting to get suspicious.. In Austin, "The Summit" is an assisted living center (two of them, actually) where people who need a little "extra help" live. Hmmmmm..... Maybe when they ask Caylin to come to the Summit in Austin, they really mean come to The Summit in Austin.

Dev: "Hello Caylin.. glad you could make it.... ummm... tell me why you're here again?"

Caylin: I'm sure you'll be totally absorbed by activities in Austin if you come, but if you get a chance, send me a PM and I'll buy you a lunch. We have some pretty good BBQ and TexMex in this town! BTW, When is this summit?

Heh sorry yall, I think this is correspondents and 'special cases' only Or else we would find 200+ people there arguing their case instead of just 30.

I'd probably not notice the difference between the two places.

Soon but I don't know if I'm allowed to say how soon at this point. I'd love to take you up on that, but from the way the devs have been scheduling our days there, I don't know if I could take you up on it...

You could also try this tactic: Ask them if they know "Leslie the cross-dresser" in downtown Austin (They will). Tell them he used to play SWG as a smuggler until he just couldn't take it any more (this is a lie, but the shock therapy may work). Leslie is an Austin icon: A cross-dressing homeless guy who wanders downtown in women's lingerie and high heels. He ran for mayor a couple of years ago and finished second, or so I understand.

Just so you're not totally shocked if you get here: Information About Leslie

Interesting...

Well, bad news everyone. Looks like GM wont be attending the Summit as he is more space oriented right now. He says if I can see him I can drag him off for a chat, but I have a feeling he thinks it unlikely.

He is thinking about us and says he will get back here 'soon' so take that as you will.

Make sure to take the devs by Sixth Street, get them drunk, and then start making "suggestions" about how and when they should help the smuggler profession. if you really want to get through to them, you can use the resident weirdos wandering around to threaten (...err, I meant..."persuade" ) them into seeing things your way.

Just a thought!
