The advert is not abad thing - it will attract more people and that will produce more jedi's. Thats what we want right?

yip, i just watched the trailer and this was no regular twilek, if it evemn was a twilek. it looked exactly like kit fisto. where in the game is he? the trailer does show some nice moments that DO happen in star wars, but not everything can be lived out (unless huge amoun of request for a live event)

Ok, so I am sitting here, not 5 minutes ago, reading through the forums, watching Stargate SG-1 (yeah, I'm bored) and all of a sudden my attention is taken away from my monitor because there's a commercial for SWG on the TV. Since it's the first one I've seen, I watch it, interested in seeing what it says.
Aside from all of the scenes showing Jedi (grr. like that's all this game is about) there's some guys talking about all of the characters you can meet in the game. They go through a small list of names (Han, etc...) and then they mention Yoda.
Since when has Yoda been in the game?? I've never seen him. I've never even heard of him being in here.
*shakes head*
I've seen the commercials. About 80% of the scenes show a Jedi (If not the now-renamed yet still infamous "Jedi Starfighter"), giving people the idea that you log in, grab your lightsaber and go take on Darth Vader (one scene shows Darth leading a squad of Stormies).
Never really paid attention to the Yoda comment. I was too busy shaking my head at all the lightsabers flying around saying "You have got to be kidding me."

Wait, there isn't any on your server?
Farstar's Eisley is BARC buying/Jedi dueling ground right now, everyone's either set to scam newbies out of their speeders, impress them with a lightsaber or both.

If they let us play Fisto's race I'm so gonna make a new character. If I didn't have this game already and saw that shot of Fisto, I'd pick the game up and become immediately dissapointed.

Yoda is NOT currently in the game as far as I'm aware...
HOWEVER, he IS in the TRE files as an npc.

also as I'm looking at this it's nothing they haven't done before.
Everybody knows that anything in the game the devs can use their internal server, with th god client, to manipulate.
BUT, also, remember, there's that secret Dev team. and remember, everyone has asked since the dawn of time for the game to be more dynamic and for the cities and npcs to be more vibrant and 3 dimensional instead of just artwork.

There's over 30 Professions? Over 30 Ships?
Well... Is there? I'm too lazy to count.
35 or 37 depending if you count every pilot-faction as an own profession or look at pilot as one profession even tho it's technically 3, and this isn't even counting Jeedai stuff.

Oh and I just noticed, some of the "game footage" ie, stuff in the "trailers" shows stuff that they apparently showed at fanfest...
so i guess like, future content?

And with SOE's track record, we should expect to see it in-game by at least Christmas of 2009! It may take a year or two after that to work out most of the bugs, though.
