Me being greedy thats a good one idk if you know the prices of smugg tools in eclipse but its insane and to have to buy two sets to get an item sliced is just rediculous. it cost me about 100k for the 2nd lv componet and another 200k for the third lv componet. To pay that much in parts for a slice to me personaly is a rip. About me bugging smuggs for their time I ask if they got time to do it if they dont i dont sit there and hastle them no more. I dont bug the crap out of them asking if my armor is done. But i sure as hell aint going to pay that much to get sliced since the armor set was onlya millthe first smugg would have cost me 2.1 mill to slice in parts the second one would have cost me 1.4 mill to get sliced and this low because I am providing my own parts to get the stuff sliced. So greeady I think not I just would pay more than what my armor cost me to get it sliced due to the fact I am bringing the tools to get the job done. From experience it dont seem to take 30 min to slice a whole set it took no more than 5min for it to be done. I says thats not a bad pay 100k per min.

Ok, how does this sound? I am putting this is my profile and email for all to read before they bother me. I also have the slicing table in my Bio so they can actually figure out how many of what components and custom points theyre items will take. /greedy

Slices 10K per Lvl per Stat

Example

  • Lvl 3 Damage (10k x3) 30k
  • Lvl 1 Critical (10k x1) 10k
  • Lvl 1 Speed (10k x1) 10k
  • Total for Typical Combo slice 50k

Components not included in price! If I supply the components then the following charges apply. Slices are subject to component availability.

  • Simple Tookit 6k
  • Finely Crafted Tookit 10k
  • Illegal Core Booster 100k (RARE!)
  • Delicate Triggr Assembly 55k
  • Transdoshan Intraframe 25k
  • Reactive Micro Plating 25k
  • Shock Absorb padding 30k
  • Mandolorian Intraframe 55k

If you charge 100k for an illegal core booster I will find where you live IRL and beat you. j/k, seriously though...that's WAY to low

fixed?

I really am not worried about it as if I dont have them, I cant use them. I will probably just leave a ??? next to it as I have plenty of everything else except ICB. Heck, my last ICB is hoarded in my slicing house and about to be used on my new laser rifle. Still no owrd on where to get these though? I have customers waiting on tier 3 damage slices!!

Let's see, I got 3+2+1=6 full houses of WUKs, my Y-8 & YT-1300 full, so thats 1400, plus odds and ends in my other 4 houses, so around 1500+ WUKs (I'm not really a fan of armor slicing, especially with loot, not worth it to slice a full set of armor). And I probably have another 200+ in crates that I need room to unpack.

good man, I went the diff storage route and made the most of a merchent alt and managed to get about 2.5k WUKs and 1.7k AUKs (thank god they convert better). If any new smugglers on Sunrunner need a start on simple and finely crafted toolkits I'll be glad to help em get a good start

That's great!... and I though I went overboard when I stockpiled about 1200 crates of AUKs and WUKs.... Currently I'm making more selling these crates than doing anything else... And I sell them for btwn 100k to 350k per crate depending on how quantity. I think that's not bad of a price because at 100k per crate, that's only 4k per tool... what do you all think?

Funny thing is, there are more non-smugglers buying them than smugglers.... at least at the moment...

I got home from work last night and every single one of my Finely Crafted Toolkits were bought along with all of my Illegal Cores. I had been charging 30k per toolkit and 75k per booster - made about 3 mil. I just restocked my vendors and I'm charging 75k per kit and 250k per core.

I'll just keep raising prices as they keep flying off my vendors. The simple toolkits don't sell so quick, but I'm leaving them for 10k a piece on the vendor since you need those to do more advanced slicing. Actually, even though I have like 400, maybe I'll reprice them to 30k a piece since there's no competition for me at the moment.

I even put up a vendor selling un-salvaged WUKs for 25k a piece since like 85% + seem to turn out as simple kits. Maybe people's gambling sides will take over and I'll sell out there too.

I have no problem with trying to squeeze the highest amount possible out of the sales, I mean afterall the idea behind being a "Fence" and a "Rogue" is to nab as much profit out of our dealings as possible...

Actually one thing I don't understand is even if it was like an extra 10% slice, that means you just have to take 11 shots with a weapon instead of 10 to get the same effect. Why would people spend so much money when they can just pop off an extra shot or two and get the same effect?

Ok, I can perhaps see why slices that require the smuggler supply the component might be expensive, depending on the rarity of the item.

Howver,CHARGING MORE than the pre-cu prices for a slice that has LESSEFFECTthan a pre-CU slice and uses NO EQUIPMENT and takes LESS TIME to do so is nuts!

Even accounting for the changes in damage level, a slice that does not require components is pretty naff compared to even a bad pre-CU slice. I was figuring I wouldn't be charging so much in the new system as I wouldn't have to have clamps & etc and wouldn't have the dual fear of accidentally hitting the wrong wire (never happened to me but still worried) or having to explain to a customer why their prize gun had a bad slice. Ok, my 'old school' 100cr per % was out of the question but I figure 2k would be the way to go. Maybe 5k if doing speed & damage.

But, it turns out that there is a concensus instead to charge more than before to deliver less. Charging the payout for entire level CL80 lair mission for a fewmoments work seems to me unreasonable. Charging the price of a cheap gun for a slice also seems unreasonable. It is the last part that is the madness. Sure, have loot-requiring slices the province of the rich elite - no problem with that. However, a plain-vanilla slice should be reasonable enough that a newer character finds it an acceptable investment. We may be playing rogues in game but IRL I hope most of us are decent enough people to more interested in enhancing others play and building a more belivable and enriched game environment - rather thanmaximising our character's credits. We should price in spite of hyper-inflation, not try to follow it as it has damaged the game.

A lot of this is RP. As was pointed out before, smuggler is a fringe profession and as such we should be people that consort with people starting out and on the economic brink. Being that only the wealthy will use our services goes against this philosophy. I much prefer the idea that we are the sort of people thatanyone cango to for that extra edge but we have our 'special' clients, the rich that can afford the components. I don't mind the idea of charging more for high tier slices even if the customer supplies the components because they can afford it.

BTW, love the bling comment
