Jedis, BHs, IDs, Chefs .... Name it, they would still use it even if it's 10% and we get the shaft. It would mean they have 10% of FD and the BHs, or whoever, would still cry bloody murder and we get the nerf.

Problem is skills works way too well at low levels
Change the stats on it so
1st level only has a 10% chance of working
2nd level has around 30% chance
3rd level has around 50% chance
4th level has around 75% chance (think thats the current max level)
Would like to see an extra +15 in master box to take it to +90 at master smuggler, but thats my opinion.
I wouldn't mind this :
1st level has 0% chance of working
2nd level has 0% chance of working
3rd level has 0% chance of working
4th level has 0% chance of working
Master box has 75% or whatever it is. Leave the smuggler skills to smugglers !
And I see many people not in love with that solution, sorry guys, not my fault we have nothing ina complet tree of skills, nothing in master box and only one skill in a tree and it's at the center of a mess we're not involved. Has I said, there's no winning situation here, just a way to reduce the damage.

You know, I've tried a dozen times to suggest some kind of system where the BH gets a skill mod to lower the chance of the smuggler feigning. It isn't the Jedi's fault, it is the BH community. If there is ANY way for a mark to either beat them or escape, they whine to no end. As we talk about the revamp, I'm now decidedly opposed to smuggler having any chance of being on the BH terminals.

Something maybe a bit more simplistic would be to ask them to move FD to the master box??? /shrug

PVP and feign death
personaly i think feign death is almost usless as it is, cause with buffs being 2500 or more its hard to get hurt enough to use it, that is unless you a fight for a living.
3 things i would like to see for feign death
1. feign death in PVP only for master and it should work like it makes you un targetable.
that way it solves the problem of black baring and armor dammage, i dont use FD in PVP cause of these 2 armor dammage us usualy more than cloning dammage
2. instead of having it set up as a chance to succeed, <LOL ive only seen it fail once> it should be done in layers
dirty fighting 1 = mobs
dirty fighting 2 = npc mobs
dirty fighting 3 = player pets (dew backs, hurtons, ect)
dirty fighting 4 =player pets NPC ( faction pets)
master smuggler = PVP ( end conflict /makes you untargetable when down/ your stats are shown only to you)
3. also with each level make it a chance of using it automaticly
DF 1 = 25% chance
DF 2= 25% chance
DF 3= 15% chance
DF 4= 15% chance
MASTER SMUGGLER 15% chance
total of 95% chance of it hitting automaticly
but i think that for it toautomaticly like thatall 3ham bars should be down to 33% of total, you might get a pop up that dumps all combat commands and uses it. that way its a option.

I'm not sure if FD even needs to be nerfed.... there is now a work around that makes it impossible in PvP... I'm not going to post it here, but I haven't gotten any confirmation from the devs or csr (a joke I know) that they even acknowledge it... but anyways.. if you ar epvping against anyone who knows how FD works, then it is a waste of a key stroke...

A) Give a lunge up ability B) Don't allow FD to be used during a BH Mission.. Just my idea

The second suggestion is not entirely practical from a coding perspective, me thinks. Personally I like just making it a skill with a counter skill that is acquired in small doses from a novice profession or two, a larger dose in the Smuggler, and Bounty Hunter professions.

Moving FD to master is a short-term solution that only addresses the current problem of Jedi and BHs using it against each other. If our (eventual) revamp involves us getting on BH terms, what's the point when we can just feign whenever they're about to catch us? FD would either then have to be changed again, or we'd have no room for BH/Smuggler PC interaction, neither of which seems particularly wise to me.
A better solution is either to give BHs a counter skill, as JTG suggests, or to make the feigner automatically lose their mission (if they're a smuggler or BH--assuming we someday get smuggler missions) or a significant percentage of the XP they normally lose for dying (if Jedi; "significant percentage" means 33-66%). Either of these would work better long-term and make FD less of an "I win" skill in what I hope will eventually be a balanced system between BHs and their marks.

Has anyone suggested a timer in this thread?? I know its been expressed in other threads but lets not forget this option shouldn't be over looked....so long as it brings us greater benefits in pvp LIKE actually showing being dead....and jedi couldnt get MUCH use out of it b/c if a BH'er doesn't get paid for a mission they know what the jedi is up to....just a thought

Moving FD to master means that anyone who is working on smuggler has to do so without this skill. I think moving a skill that has been where it is since release is a bad idea. Modifying how well it works or adding a timer to its useis more of a balance issue. Moving it to master is a 'nerf' for anyone working on smuggler.
Personally I very rarely use it, remember the old PVP days where if you did, you usually got up with 99% wounds on your stats. This was classed as a bug, but really it also stopped people using FD for as long as they liked to lay there. At one point posture up was supposed to get you out of FD, again this was either just rumor or a bug.
As its BH that need a way to get people out of FD, why not use the bomb droids as you need BH to use them, then the blast cancels the FD or the damage actually still works even when FD. Maybe this would actually make the bomb droids more useful, as they stop moving during the countdown.
But moving it to master just to stop other professions having access to the skill is a bad idea and probably would never happen, lots of professions want some of there best skills at master to stop dabblers, but the who skill tree system is to encourage dabbling in skills. Say they moved all the pistol speed mods in pistoleer to master, that would mean a smuggler would have to master pistoleer just to get the speed bonuses. It wont effect masters of the profession, just people who are working on the professions or dabblers.

We don't like timers. If there's a timer your opponent will simply wait it out. A MOB will simply hang around, because that's what they do, unless you ran really far from their spawn point.

I blame whoever is using it to the point that the devs would think it would warrant a nerf.

That's right, there is a good chance of this happening so blame them when you guys get screwed even more. Aren't Jedi wonderful?
