I thought was getting better since JTL was information updates such as Whats on Deck, but since loot patch we have heard nothing.

Don't read dev senetces, pick one single piece and declare something. Read the facts of the post first

By saying "less than a year and longer than a mini publish" all he is saying is he will give no ETA. In previous posts he stated quite clearly it was not going to be rushed which is why he wont be firm at all on a date.

But it is in ALPHA so its coming

I have to echo a lot of what Korrack said in his message Wes. TH said "Longer than a mini-publish and less than a year" which was annoying, although probably accurate and you're coming in with "well under a year"

Both of you addressed the Combat Upgrade - but not the Smuggler revamp (which wasn't the point of TH's post though) and that's what frustrates me even more - So we have between now and a year from now for the CU then how long till the Smuggler revamp? Where are we on the revamp list? How long would a revamp take?a Couple months?if so, then the Smuggler revamp we're looking at is "between now and ayear plus a couple of months" ?

I believe there's a few posts stickied above asking for input on Smuggler changes that have been going on for eons now and are just going in circles reguitating the same messages over and over - when can we expect an honest discussion about the revamp? Or are they just going to take the stickied post's comments assume it is all good and start to work?

If this were any other system, I'd love to have a little meter which gave the best guess date for release of the CU and it could change daily depending on what's occurred. Unfortunately SOE has such a bad reputation and poor communication with the users that no one would trust it.

Gost's posts from the last week (sorry no link) I thought were excellent in opening a discussion regarding communications - hope someone upstairs took it to heart. And, I'm not trying to flame ya Wes, I actually admire your optimism!

My PA is more or less dying, all of my old friends left, some of the newer ones are thinking of it, my Playercity-Hometown suffers from disapearing Buildings from quiters and to top it:

Smuggler Revamp is gone for good ... so this is how the end feels like. I shurly will not stay here for a year, just for that all time joke of "next patch you'll get some love". *sigh*I'll stay Master Smuggler to the bitter end, but if I am getting tired of Master Shipwright and the silly JTL "smuggle not Smuggle"-Affair I am out of here. What good is a Profession, if they keeppatching it down to moreor lessbroken for on and on?

I have to face it: They care for money not for the community. The faster the money, the better. I don't get the feeling of taken care of at all. Never mind ... still the last few sparks of hope in my heart will keep me logging in for a while, but the hope for a smuggler-patch is dead. Killed by no word at all of it.

It was made clear that they would only talk now about what is on the deck right now, and right now what is on the deck is CU.

We don't hear about the Smuggler revamp, but the Rangers and the Squad Leaders and thoses other proffessions who need love too have no news either. And CU should be good, for all of us.

They are working on some small stuff at the same time as CU but for big stuff like a revamp we won't have news before CU is live.

No, I have not mastered the cynic proffession.

what i imagine is so much different, with the last statement TH made it's almost clear we'll celebrate the 2 years annivbersary of the first promise of a revamp with nothing done. And that is what i call bad news, really really bad news.

Remember how cool we were when they said we needed "love" the first half-dozen times? Panic-Shot.. Autopull.. less-than-ridiculous-spice downers..

Hell, I don't even care about a revamp that much anymore, I want a rollback TO A YEAR AGO. We thought we sucked then, but we had no idea.

I find it very interesting that someone goes through all of the posts lately and 1 stars anything with a negative attitude towards the game or things being told to us about any upcoming patches or lack there of. This forum is here for Smugglers to discuss issues and topics relavent to the Smuggler profession. As of late, the game has seen a decrease in population, it has seen a lot of Smugglers drop the profession, and it has definately seen a loss of morale by the players. I myself am on my third guild because so many of my friends have been leaving daily. My oldest friend in the game now I have only known for 4 months.

If the one star bandit had a valid opinion to post in rebuttal to all of the negative feelings players are having, why doesn't be post instead of sneaking around 1 starring all the negative posts. We are supposed to be a brotherhood of Smugglers, we are supposed to look out for and help each other, we are supposed to discuss the Smuggler profession like a bunch of adults. 1 Starring posts and not explaining why is something a 4 year old does.

I would love to hear a well worded, logical and realistic rebuttal to some of the negative feeling posts. Prove to me my friends are not leaving the game, prove to me we have not been promised things dozens of times and nothing ever became of it, prove to me that the DEVs did not lie about the autopull issue when they said it wasn't going live. I know some people are tired of hearing the depressed people talk, and they want everyone to be optimistic, but some people have a fine line of what they can handle. We all dedicate 100s and 100s of hours to playing this game, so to get bad or no news is depressing to some and they have to voice their feelings.

For the 1 star bandit, get some balls and tell me why we should believe anything the DEVs tell us anymore, tell me how everything is wonderful and why players should put up with this when they pay for it. Tell us why you 1 star things, instead of lurking in the shadows.

what if the one satr bandit is a dev, sneaking and trying to get us out of the forums so that they could at least reach their goal, that is removing the profession?

yup i know i should try to grind the paranoiac profession, but you know, one gets very quickly bored with patience...

I wouldn't go that far, but I can certainly understand a loss of patience with SOE and it's promises it makes. It's hard to believe the boy who cries wolf, or a DEV who promises revamps...

well, actually i'd rather fight for fixes than the revamp, we know the revamp is going to happen one day, as for fixes, we've been waiting for them since launch...

Agree, and fixes would at least be a sign of good faith, especially when said fixes are simply things they have broken with other fixes to other things.

I was wondering the same thing actually - I jumped over to the Naritus forum and there were threads with messages like "1 starred you for using oversized fonts"

I've narrowed my choices for the 1 star ninja down to:

1) SOE Staff (I know I know - probably not)
2) A smuggler who thinks the profession works as it is
3) Someone from another profession that works, and is seeing the negative threads as "whining"

Anyone taking bets?
