It sounds like a good idea. I wouldn't mind having a pack for smugglers. This would make it more fun to be a smuggler.

I like the idea...I don't know about the smooth talk mods or whatever, I don't know that would be really that important. I would like to see a hidden compartment inside the backpack that opened in a window INSIDE the backpack window. That would serve as a secret compartment or whatever and give you a greater chance at success to pass a scan. I also believe that backpack should be a slice or modification of a backpack made by tailors. Maybe only make a couple of backpacks eligible for the modification or whatever, but IMO I think the pack should be modified by the smuggler...and probably make it a slice eligable at the Master Smuggler level. Just my tidbits on a most interesting idea that I think deserves some serious consideration.

Maybe if we sell enough junk to the jawas, we could getthis nifty pack.

I jest, I would be cool.... *looks around for a dev* .... really cool ..... *whistles and rocks back and forth of feet* ... any minute now.... *looks at watch* .... any minute .... *looks around for the dev*.... *sigh*

I was going to suggest slicing back packs, but then everyone would do it.

just thought this would be a little different, and just for smugglers.

Slicing them would make about as much sense as cutting wires on a stone knife.. I have no problem with it using slicing skills.. but for the sake of not sounding silly lets just call it 'modyfing'

lol! i love the cutting wires on stone knives and wooden staffs. it always cracks me up.

I like the idea of modifying an existing pack instead of crafting it from scratch... we shouldn't be crafters.

I don't care the pack looks differently or has a different name, I'd rather like the idea of adding a special "pocket" to an existing pack, and that only items in the pocket give a bonus to hiding the item. Also, if you get caught, the special pocket should be removed, along with any illegal items in it. The rest of the items would go into your normal inventory for the backpack. In this method, the pocket would not actually expand your inventory allowing your to carry more, but rather just hide a limited number of items better. That way, if the pocket was removed you're inventory couldn't be over-filled by the items being dumped into your main inventory.

The Underworld tree should contain our smuggling ability and our chances of avoiding scans. Anything places in the smuggler-pocket of your backpack should give you an added bonus to your smuggling rate on top of your skills. At Underworld IV, you should be able to create the pocket on a pack, but anyone with Novice Smuggler should be able to equip a modified pack... it'd just be that the smuggler pocket wouldn't do you much good without the Underworld Smuggling skills to back it up.

I would actually prefer to be able to equip a pocket or satchel, but have it not detectable. This would increase our inventory AND help us smuggle...(blows out candles and wishes)
