I use to be a miner... ( big change huh? =P ) 400-500 metal anything isn't hard to come by. Someone was selling copper inchunks of 4000 for 6000 cr with a conductivity at 700+ on the coronet open market not to long ago so making good clamps cheap shouldn't be a problem. People being people though, they are going to get what ever people will pay for them so if you think the clamps are overpriced... you're shopping in the wrong store =)

If I understand the example correctly, You'd really only have to use a good clamp on the the first slice anyway.

Sounds like you're on the right idea!

And yeah, if you wanted to a real feel for a particular weapon you could use a good clamp on the first slice for it so it'd be like "training wheels".

But after you learn how to go with the flow, you'll learn that some models have wires that will "feel hot" when you select to touch 'em or some do this or that.

But still, with only a percent here or there you wouldn't need that great of an experimented clamp to give you an accurate reading. And even then, if you'rein the 30% area and you're not sure, you could always "check the main power flow capicitor for heat" and depending on what you "feel" you can determine how you want to slice.

Sometimes even at best you're only going to get a 36% slice or so. It's just the randomness of it. And when you think about it, the way this system is, it's very easy to roughly get a 35% all damage slice guaranteed. But the combat revamp will have this all set up to where speed will be much more important. So I would look for that and accuracy to be an important item.

I think I may work on this a bit and clean it up for a more formal thing. People seem to like it
