They could report you but the CSR won't do anything about it. They have an "all trades are final" policy. Therefore if you freely trade something to someone, ie a smuggler, and he doesn't trade it back it's not considered against the TOS. HOWEVER, it is very bad, very mean, and a very very bad idea

I had an experience that seems to refute that not too very long ago:

Customer asks me to slice his weapon and I lay down the price and everything up front, asking him to keep his payment until the slice is done. Of course, he ignored that and traded his payment and weapon and I accepted just to get it over with. Lo and behold! Link death...at the very moment I click accept to trade it back. Now I know any customer is going to be going crazy to get thier stuff back so I try to log back in and I get kicked before I ever see a glimpse of C-net. Happened over and over for almost an hour.I later found outthat Mr. Tard-o was spamming me (and having his friends spam me!) so hard that I was getting kicked off. When I finally was able to log in, I hadCSR email waiting for me. It said that every transaction was logged, the log showed me getting his gear and money, and that if I didn't return it soon I would be facing severe disciliplanry action. Maybe the CSR was just kidding me aboutwhat they are capable of?

(And it still burns me up that he made the whole situation so blown outta proportion - dern noob)

Hehe..thanks. I like the vendor ad-barking belittling them the whole way. Oh this will be fun.

If you're on Bria,..I will take all my repo's to you and split the profit!! Thats a 5-star idea!!!

And as far as stealing from customers...its bad cause it kills repeat business - BUT it is okay to repo!

I am a a lot of things..but I am most accurately a Rogue. I steal hearts, not property.

From the Rules of Conduct:

4. You may not defraud other players.

Fraud in all transactions between players will result in disciplinary action when confirmed by a CSR. Fraud is defined as falsely representing one's intentions to make a gain at another's expense. Examplesof this activity include but are not limited to -offering to"slice" a weapon or container belonging to another player and then keeping the items and credits - as well as using flaws in a secure trade window to deprive someone of one or more of their items or credites.

Notice how Smugglers are used for the example?

Had a CSR try to do the "all trades are final" crap on me when I got ripped off*....so I threw this in their face...amazing how fast they changed their tune.

* Note I was not ripped off by a smuggler.

That is very interesting. I had never heard of anyone actually getting help on something like this...good to know thanks

Of course our one saving grace if some idiot is trying to stiff us on payment in highlighted in red. It says if you try to keep the items and credits

I steal from players ALL the time and don't even think twice about it.

One time I was eating in acantina when some dude dropped his bandfill. I stole everything he had.

That's right I am a mammal and also I steal stuff all of the time! If you don't believe it you better get a life right now or I'll steal all of your stuff too! It's an easy choice if you ask me.

Picture this...
A small meek pistoleer steps into a crowded cantina. She takes in the scene, and carefully notes the lack of any imperial presence in the place. Through the smoke and commotion, she sees what she is looking for... a big burly smuggler, having a beer at a table in the far back, engaged in some sort of disagreement with another party. She approaches cautiously, taking in the scene. Should she do it? Can this guy be trusted? Will she ever emerge from this place if she follows through with what she is about to do? She pulls the hood on her cloak over her head, trying not to attract attention, and casually wanders over to the smuggler's table, keeping her head down the entire way. She bends over him, whispers something in his ear, and thrusts her most prized possession, a very special pistol wrapped in a hide to conceal it, into the smuggler's chest in a casual movement. The smuggler takes note of the fine workmanship on the pistol, brings it up into his hand to test the balance, and ...

This whole game is missing this kind of playing.

yep this game would be so much better if professions actually seemed to have some affect outside of skills like that ^^

OK, I hate to say it guys, but I think in this matter we are part of the problem. If you want something sliced by me, you have to PM me. I'm searchable. And if I'm slicing, I'm either in the Cantina, or sitting at a table somewhere in the starport. Just another guy, but a guy who has a look about him that tells you this is someone shady and talented. Yes, that look happens to be a big Master Smuggler label over my head. But let us face facts, everyone has to wear composite armor. Give us something to wear over it that gives our characters, well, character, and I will wear that. I digress....

The point it, why did we let the roleplaying out of RPGs? Slicing is the one thing we can still role-play with and actually make money. Most professions can roleplay their profession and be doing their profession. We can't smuggle. But we CAN roleplay a slicer. Sony isn't going to roleplay for us. We have to get into the spirit of our profession if that is what is going to make the game more fulfilling for us.
