I think the point is, a developers sense of "done" an actuality sense of "done" are two very different concepts. I'm a developer myself and I frequently tell people things are finished when what I really mean is:

"I have it worked out in my mind how I'm gonna go about doing it but havent actually had the time to sit down and physicaly do it... but its done!"

And if the only reason its not getting finished is because someone needs to write all the text for the conversations... give me a damn pen! I can write!

No, a Dev SPECIFICALLY told Veela (think it was Veela,) that "smuggling" was in fact finished, they were simply writing all the dialog for it. So it's not a metaphorical "finished"

It was me.

However, after the phone call I made last week to SOE's offices and the subsequent response I received, I have a REALLY bad feeling about this....

No Smuggling by the next patch...I'm going to be cutting down my play time....A LOT. And by a lot, I mean probably almost never.

People grouped up and stuck together in the wilderness, and you ALWAYS took a Scout or a Ranger with you. We lived our own Star Wars saga. That magic is gone now, but I'd pay 50 bucks a month to have it back.

I take it you can't share?

I've been wondering why the did the bait and switch on the In Concept Slicing and also took the In Concept smuggling content down without a word.

They really have abandoned us?

Well....

I basically got b****ed out after I called SOE last week. I won't say who, I won't say what was said....but I can't call there anymore.

But needless to say.......if that person was as irate as they sounded on the phone, the future of the Smuggler is looking really bleak.

Someone was nasty to our Veela?

That cuts it with me even less than the lack of Smuggler content.

i sense another period of dev bashing on the horizon. I hate when they do this. Tell us one thing then do something the complete opposite. WTH have they got against Smugglers, do they not realise we're probably the most loyal customers they have.

I have a feeling that the reason behind it is to keep us hanging in there, making us believe we're getting some attention so we all dont go and hit cancel tho i bet deep down they wish we would just leave so they could concentrate on turning this into KOTOR ONLINE.

Veela if what you said is true (and i dontdoubt it for a second) i hope they know what there doing cause i wont take this lying down. I dont know how i actually cant take this lying down (if that makes sense) but i'm gonna think of a way.

bring me 5ft by 5ft box and mark on it PIES , i'll get inside, sneak around the offices and take one of there prized original c3-po action figures then we can take snaps of it indulging in pies and drinking beer and hold the poor sod to ransom

sillyness aside this is bad news and i feel really let down by SOE as of right now

Yeah, i've been here for hours just sifting through various forums, other sites.Started to log on to game 3 times, but killed it before i ever got to launchpad. Maybe Im just getting burnt out. 'Bout the only thing I haven't tried is Jedi and I have no desire to, even if there was an "instant full template button". Just feeling pretty disgusted with the whole lot.

That figures.

This latest round of bull$hit from SOE isaffecting me too. The two months of no lag fixes or even mere commentary about lag issues has me on edge and I'm only gonna give them a little while longer to see if anything gets fixed before I cancel. A reverse 180 or otherwise shafting of the smuggler revamp will be my final nail in the coffin.

It's so disappointing. At least with World of Warcraft, Blizzard at least SAID that 56k is not entirely viable for high tensity battles (which isn't exactly true, I've participated in many and gotten several kills but would admittingly do better with broadband). I can respect that much, because it's an honest answer.

What kills me is that SWGworked very comfortably over 56k for two years up until the CU.Since then, it's been complete crap, totally NOT worth the $15/mo I am shelling out for it.What's worse is that theselatency issues have been a "top issue" for 2 months now with no apparant resolution in sight, and dozens (if not hundreds) of pre-CU veterans getting annoyed by the lack of information and finger pointing (being told that they're the source of the lag even though that's been sufficiently ruled out).

Anyway, the way I'm starting to see it is that SWG was just destroyed by marketing. SOE wanted to make big money off of the Star Wars franchise and they've done just that (more power to them). It seems, though, thepossible costis thepart of my soul that loved Star Wars so dearly. I hope the former Westwood guys do one hell of a job with Empire at War, because that's where all my hope is riding - and it's a damn shame it's come to that. It really is.

you guys are going to have to wait until they finish with the jedi updates, simple as that

at this point in the game when devs are working on balancing out jedis and the bounty system

they probably wont take much notice to requests for a smuggler revamp

i would wait until after this next patch to bring forth complaints

just because right now the majority of the swg world is having a huge battle over the fairness of jedi hunting

smugglers definetely deserve a revamp as they lack major content, currently a smuggler can be played as an alt

only logging it on when needed and not having any actual effect on what goes on in-game

or even having any smuggler oriented content in the game period

You REALLY don't think TWO FREAKING YEARS were long enough to wait?

So let's see....

Publishes 9, 10, the CU and 18 weren't good enough for one profession?

You've GOT to be kidding me.
