Well...if it's something like what is in your inventory already then it most likely is a bug and thus an exploit. Because that just goes against the game design as I would see it. Maybe the developers would intend something like this...but I have my doubts based on prior dev history.

Unless the text has been fiddled with, it shows the use of one MC followed by the knives cutting to get a 40%.

So what does that leave us with?

If we assume that this is not an bug/exploit, then it MUST have something to do with the tools themselves does it not? I know that I am a master smuggler myself for some time now and though my slices do tend to be higher than the average mentioned, I do not fall into the high 30s+ that often. I use fully experimented tools/upgrade kits. So the question is....what's the deal? Obviously, something is going on if we assume this is a typical slice. If the experimentation of the tool is not the main factor (considering I use 90%+ tools I do not see how it is), then what could it be? A material type not listed? Is it really overall quality and not conductivity? Some other stat? Honestly, it must be something along those lines otherwise....well...it sounds like an bug/exploit.

Okay, there are two things that I can think of right off hand:

1) The Overall Quality of the tools.

2) A food or spice was used to boost one of Rudd's stats that allows the smuggler to succeed with a greater result. (This was suggested above, though it's hard to say if this was a red herring or not.)

Since past experiments have gone against #1, I'm inclined to try #2. I'll try slicing after taking some Muon Gold and then Booster Blue to see what happens.

At any rate, with the screen shot provided I'm inclined to believe that this is possible now. Of course, it's going to drive the rest of us crazy trying to figure out how to do it.

As for the food/spice theory, it does not make sense. As far as I can tell your HAM stats affect none of your actions in the game. They get drained and regenerate all by actions, but having higher action, health or minddoes not seem to increase crafting ability, damage using weapons ... They are more like limiters on how many times you can perform special actions and are used to determine when your character gets incapped. I could be wrong on this. Someone please clue me in if I am. If HAM numbers do not affect other actions AND eating food or spiceaffects slicing ability, I would say it is a bug.

Another option (assuming these 40% and higher slices are real) is that he found and is using a slicing skill enhancer. I have never heard of these existing, but who knows.

I think I smell a rat who can't spell('fource','Kanobi' - see above screenshot), but is a decent photoshop artist.

Having a little "log in" failure is enough to be entiteled as "Somebody" when sending messages to other people... I had that bug myself several times... So guess what idea our little mastermind Rudd had...

I fully believe your stats have an effect on slicing. I'm not a master smuggler, only Slicing III but let me relate a story of something that happened the otehr night.

I was slicing some stuff for a friend and I accidentally clicked on some neutron pixie. I took a break at that time so I can't say how I was affected by it during the upper, but I resumed slicing during the downer and I had BY FAR the worst slices ever, 6%, 8%, etc.

This suggests to me that some of our personal stats definitely affect the quality of the slices to a certain degree.

How it was done, I am not sure of. All I know is it is probably a combination of tools and prolly and exploit that has to be addressed or revealed!

My thoughts: Put up or shut up.

If it CAN be done, post how it's done so it can be verified. I can understand someone not wanting to give up a trade secret, but I'm not going to waste my time chasing red herrings.
