What kind of game do you think you have here?

Is interdependency gone, totally out of the design. Don't you see anymore what makes (made) this game so greta in theory.

If you stick a terminal up with delivery Mission keep them.

IF YOU (here is the point) THINK ABOUT SMUGLING AS IMPROVING JUST ONE PROFESSION YOU HAVE LOST ALL ORIGINALITY.

SMUGLER MISSIONS DONE RIGHT.

In short if you do it right it will touch many professions and enhance things for many more people then just smugglers.

How can you be so dead wrong.

Another note JFreeman, since others are bringing it up. Is it possible to actually tell us what went wrong in the past, including the most recent situation.


We did have a couple very trusted members of this community get told that the smuggling missions were near completion. Is that all gone now? What happened to it? Was that person blowing smoke up our... ?


I'm glad you're discussing it, but many of the old timers here would like to know what the heck happened to date so that we know it's not been stall tactics all along.

Ahem, anyways, what you say here is exactly right... We really are looking to be able to SMUGGLE, as our primary concern... But it just boggles me how hard it would be to add this is!!! With the time it takes to make all these quests you guys are making, wouldn't it not be very time consuming to give us at least SOMETHING? We already have all the elements in terms of moves to give us some interesting missions... We just need a purpose to have to get away to SOMEPLACE by means of a mission, to utilize them how they should. But could you at least keep us up to date at what you are thinking about adding, even if it isn't definate? If you continue to leave us in the dark, we will continue to feel ignored, and people will continue to quit. Even if you don't add it in, it will still let us know it is being worked on.

those outlined a plan that would seem to do exactly what you are talking about here in this thread

You have done what no OTHER dev sence greenmarine has done and thats told the truth. We very much appreciate THE TRUTH. As it saddens me to hear that a full blown revamp is not possable, we have heard this before. Thank you for coming in here and actauly telling us what was going on, no matter how much we dont want to hear it. We would love to give you a list of ideas, if you would be so nice as to at least ummmm TRY to avoid throwing them all away, and actualy immplament them in some way or form.


Some of us realize that after 2 years of growth that SWG is have negative population growth, more people are leaving than coming in. This is very unfortunate, I for one have been here for 2 years, and do not see the treatment that the give to us devs as the cause for this. But i believe it is because of JEDI... MOST PEOPLE I KNOW IN GAME DONT WANT TO BE A JEDI IF IT MEANS WHEN THEY PLAY NON JEDI CHARACTERS THAT THEY WONT HAVE FUN. The massave population growth of the Jedi is outragous, it is practicaly scaralage distroying the very essence of the this STAR WARS game and turning it in to starwarsy.


I wont go on about this but thank you forposting here in the smuggler forums, I cant speek for everyone else, but I do appreciate being heard, and accnoledged as alive.

The devs said earlier that they won't tolerate this kind of stuff... Maybe if we tread him nicely we will get answers to why so many ideas weere trashed.

let's start with the most glaring problem, in the simplest of terms...


THE CURRENT LAW/CONTRABAND SYSTEM IN THE GAME IS A JOKE.


Before ANYTHING should be done, that really needs a-fixing, man.


No-one is ever going to be happy with a bunch of random missions, not unlike current delivery missions, that you just "happen" to be a Smuggler to do. We need a law to avoid. We need SKILLS to avoid them, not just that native skill to avoid a contraband check, but skills we can use to negate the chance of EVER being noticed in the first place, stealth.Skills that can be used in other parts of the game to help other players. Ways to mask hostility, etc, ways for us to smuggle not only items, but people, other players.


Ever seen the game "Elite" or any of its sequals? Each planet would have a list of items that were illegal to bring into the planet, we need those type of lists in the game. Yes, I'm sure that would take some big database overhaul but you really should of thought of that shouldn't you? Anything else is tame in comparision. Risk/Reward, Law/Punishment....Stop pandering to the people that want things so easy, man.


Some of this stuff should be in the core systems... applicable to everyone. A reason to be a Smuggler, areason to NEED a Smuggler.


Then you can put some missions in.
