Its a rare kit that only 1 year vets have access to, and surprisingly, some of the one year vets didnt chose because they were not keeping up to date on teh forums. Thus sure some people will not be replacing that uber wepaon anytime soon, but their armor is taking a beating, or weapon if they use it on armor.
Um, I knew the kits were gold in the hand. No offense, but I was kind of insulted by this remark.
The fact is that some of the one-year vets either don't NEED some ub3r kit, or they liked other stuff better. Notbecause we aren't keeping up to date on the forums.
What do you think I DO all day?
He must have been talking about me
Yeah - I didn't want to say anything - but I just assumed he meant you as well

I think the letter/symbol combination you want is: m1m

Um the thread is not about the sky falling. Just the roof getting a tad bit lower. I hope anyone dosent think I am saying oh my god smuggler is over. I am saying things will actually get harder. Then again after this shoves a few more weaponsmiths out of the game we may find more unsliced goodness out there who the hell knows. I am not complaining all that much am I.
I got 2 year old accounts. So I got two anti decay kits. I went out and bought 1 antidecay kit for four million, and I am going to try and find a chump to sell me his tommorrow. Am I crying over spilt milk not really.
I am going to drop these on my best llc scatter pistol a good laser rifle and a decent carbine. Voila I am in heaven. Infact I never got the nym slug thrower from that themepark that would probabally be a good carbine.
I just decided to ask the question seeing as nobody got around to asking it yet. Call me a fool for pointing out a 50 foot gorilla. The facts are this will have an impact on smuggler one way of the other. So shouldnt we atleast discuss it hell alot of you didnt even understand how these worked. Points to the comments about the curb nerfing the weapons these are in and thus screwing the owners. Hint hint wink wink. Some of you did not even know they were reuseable.
P.S. I love the fact that some jedi screwed up and didnt get this.

Dont weapons still decay by way of the number of uses? You can only repair a weapon so many times, so while your uber weapon wont decay with death it will still be killed by use, no??
Ummm, weapons dont decay with death

Everyone of your posts is about Smuggler getting harder to deal with.

Yes, but Ana's right with this one, I think. How much effect the ADKs will have is wildly debatable, but they will cut into our slicing business.

It's anti-decay from death OR use. My DE10 hasn't decayed one point since applying the reward.
)
Even so, consider...
1. It's a ONE YEAR reward,
2. It's ONE per account,
3. The turnover of players and constant influx of new ones,
4. The number of players that change professions thereby needing a new type of weapon.
Are we REALLY going to worry about this? I'm not going to lose a moments sleep.
Now if we are going to worry about something shouldn't it be actually being able to SMUGGLE in our lifetimes?

1. You're over-reacting once again
2. You're only mentioning Weaponsmiths, what about Armorsmiths? Tailors? Artisans? Shipwrights? I VERY greatly doubt that players will ONLY EVER use Anti-Decay kits on weapons.
3. So you've got 3 Anti-Decay kits and you're working on a fourth.... so what? You've stated that you put one on your LLC, and the others are going to weapons. What about your armor? Even if you're a Trandoshan you'd need 7 kits to Anti-Decay a suit of Composite, and you'd need 9 if you were another race that could wear a full 9-piece set. My point? People would need approximately 10 kits (or more) for them to never need anything sliced again (full suit of armor is 7-9 pieces, at least one weapon, and probably a PSG too). People will also probably wear out their armor faster after the CURB since (in theory) PvP will become more prevalent and fun again.
4. If you wanted to discuss this in a civil fashion you shouldn't have titled the thread "uhoh we are in trouble?" Try something that doesn't scream "wolf" next time.

As has been said, I don't think this will have a huge impact on us. I would say that there is a very small percentage of Smugglers who may see a drop in business. These are the guild slice-monkeys who slice all their guildies new weapons that they burn through 5 times a week. Or, they are contract slice-monkeys that know a few l33t doodz with uber gear that only they slice.
I am neither, so I won't be bothered. I do extend regret to those that are...but again, I believe they are a very small percentage...and they will only see a small percentage of reduction in business.

Okay see this is some of the stuff I tried to be sensitive on. The we will still have business argument. Ofcoarse you will still have business. Its less a question of if but how much. Just going be a straight line analysis. One can determine fewer items will require sliceing. Thats it you cannot argue with that if joe applies a kit to a weapon or a peice of armor, and joe preceeds to actually use the weapon. Joe will not need to replace that item untill he finds a better weapon. Which may be a week or five months depends on how good the starting weapon was. If its a real good weapon odds are he will use it with a singleminded determination.
Do I think there is an issue of people still needing armor sliced. No and yes the truth is and do not scold me most players will buy their armor presliced no matter what. A player may accept gambleing on a gun or a power hammer, but that same player probabally dosent want to buy crates of armor to get the slices he or she wants. While I do run across non sliced weaponshops from time to time. I just cannot recall the last time I saw a armorshop that did not carry preslice.
I think most players will use the kits on the weapons and actually feal free to use those weapons excluseively.
Interesting points. for consideration.
Crafters do not need these kits so are willing and do sell them to combats.
Many players hold multiple accounts and thus can put these kits where they own.
Nobody who leaves the game is going to perma take one of these kits with them. They will give it to their pal their buddy.
1 year is still a signifigant portion of the population.
In other words for every its not so bad point you can make there is an equally but you forgot this part point. There is no way to know anything for sure other then a percentage of otherwise slice needing items will not be.
