Okay...we need to set the record straight here as there is a lot of "confused & misinformed" people here.
1) It does work on a weapon
2) Weapons take no decay on death...infact the only decay a weapon sees is from use.
3) the decay kit stops #2. Thus a wepaon will last as long as it is in the decay kit.
4) any item placed in theanti-decay kitcan be deleted from the decay kit, and you get the kit back. Thus you can use it on a new weapon if you like..ie..the weapons in the CURB.
5) It works on lightsabers (fix went in today) and prevents the decay of the crystals/pearls contained inside, and they can be removed and replaced at anytime for other crystals that will gain the benefits of anti-decay.
6) If you didn't select the anti-decay kit. I'm sorry. This thing is selling for 10Mill+ on every server I have checked because
a) they are rare...only one account (not toon) gets the kit
b) you can trade them to other players, who can use as many of them as they like (a rileman with 4 of these can have one on his T21, DXR6B, Jawa andBerzerker)..and when they find a better rifle, they destroy the one top be replaced and used the recovered device on the new rifle.
Now you all have the info on the decay kit. Naturally, it could change as the Devs can change anyhting they want.
Will this ruin Smugglers? No.

Its a rare kit that only 1 year vets have access to, and surprisingly, some of the one year vets didnt chose because they were not keeping up to date on teh forums. Thus sure some people will not be replacing that uber wepaon anytime soon, but their armor is taking a beating, or weapon if they use it on armor.

My wife plays a Rifle(wo)man and seh uses at least three different rifles from time to time, when I were still a pistoleer I used pretty much all my pistols... granted DX2, FWG5 and the scout blaster were my most used. As I see it then the decay kit will only have limited effect. I think with the CU things will change a lot and the Decay Kit will be something you use for that special weapon you particularly like.
The net result is that players will put the kit on their finest weapon. One that is already sliced, and use that weapon 90 percent of the time. Remember that most of the weapons that need replaced in the game are the primary weapons. These after all are the weapons that decay and destroy the fastest.
P.S. Havent heard if the system prevents players from carrying multiple weapons that have been kitted or not.
Sorry to say so, but the sky isn't falling. I remember 3 months ago, where everyone was saying SWG was dying as people left. SWG is still here and I see more and more people on my server each week.

Um, I knew the kits were gold in the hand. No offense, but I was kind of insulted by this remark.
The fact is that some of the one-year vets either don't NEED some ub3r kit, or they liked other stuff better. Notbecause we aren't keeping up to date on the forums.
