Logitec extreme 3D pro. throttle control, thumb trigger for missiles, twist for rolls.
12 buttons.... yes, you'll use all of them and wonder how you managed without them.
/agree
Its actually 10 buttons, a hat, and a trigger, but still if you are any sort of pilot, you should use them all.

i found the thing to be waaaaay cumbersome.. i felt it would be good for landing a C5 cargo plane, or operating a subway car, but very annoying when making tiny adjustments to aim... IMO. I used to use a PS2ishgame pad but if you get used to the mouse.......
I know that sounds rookie and i was like "hah! idiots using the mouse.." but nah... when u get used to it its badass.
ok. i remember trying to pilot me noob-ship with a mouse... and how muchg of a PITA it was.. i salute you....
Haven't had a working stick in a while need to get a new one, hehheh, might have to be that x52, based solely on drool factor
i am useing a cheap yet feature filled Thrustmaster Afterburner. Throttle and joystick.
cheap on the wallet but not the quality, takes all the flinging and pounding i dish out. bounces off the wall nicely.
I use the Saitek X45. Dare I say it's the last stick I'll probably ever buy. I've looked at the X52 and its a bit much for me.
Be careful about programing the fancy Saitek sticks though. For those who don't know, after you install it, Windows installs another keyboard and mouse. This is so you can use the stick's programing to asign keyboard keystrokes to the buttons. If you get fancy with the programing, you may run into weird "conflicts" with the keymaper. At one point I was launching countermeasures everytime I hit the button I programed to Dock. Basicaly, pick either the keymaper or the Joystick's program to run the game, not both.
I use a 5 year old Logitech Optical Mouse.
And I still own most other pilots in PvP space combat.
